Youngest he did ever was in 40's. I'm 30 too...and i have nice cheek structure so it really pissed me off. It's bad enough being a little insecure so when I told my sister she was upset about the whole thing for me. He also tried to sell a breast lift procedure, I thought mine were fine, he was lifting my breasts with his hands to show me how they would look much better, I felt like **** when I left the office. Plus, when he puts the numbing cream and I have to wait for it to kick in, all naked with that gooey stuff all over me, he gives me all these brochures on different procedure, and I ask if he can get me some of the magazines from the waiting room.
Author Hasmik Posted May 5, 2005 Author Posted May 5, 2005 That is really bad. I would try going somewhere else. Unless you get a good deal there. Then just ignore his offers. Or even more, show that you are interested, you will get some discounts on hair removal and then don't go. numbing cream . It is very strange that my one doesn't use any creams or anything. I hear about it first time here. THe procedure doesn't hurt bad in my case.

I have to admit i kinda thought about doing that!!! He is backed up for 3 months straight in his appointments so I have to make an appointment the same day I get my procedures to be in line, I can't book something then cancel though...then he'd charge for it plus do a worse job? It is very strange that my one doesn't use any creams or anything. I hear about it first time here. THe procedure doesn't hurt bad in my case. I can't imagine it not hurting in the underarm and genital areas, if you get them there. The rest I can tolerate on the other body parts, except the back of my thighs also hurt a lot, and some other areas here and there, so I just have him cover me in cream everywhere. He's a little perverted so I wish his nurse would do it!!!!!!!!!!!! Reminds me of my first gyno I made an error of getting a male one - uh - uh, never again... Whole other story! The first few times I didn't want the cream, thinking it was unhealthy, but I would be containing myself from screaming from the pain...maybe you don't have the lazer on a high enough setting? The lighter your skin, the higher the setting you can get or else on dark skin for some reason the high frrequency burns/scars the skin he tells me. Oooohhh the thought of the underarm part - PAIN like nothing Ive experienced , I was like roll out that cream...
Author Hasmik Posted May 5, 2005 Author Posted May 5, 2005 I have very light skin and he uses the highest setting with on that machine. Underarm don't hurt at all. The rest sometimes hurts but no more than epilating with an electrical epilator. I am a bit busy right now but if you want I can PM you later his website to check if you have the same machine
Author Hasmik Posted May 10, 2005 Author Posted May 10, 2005 You should also get in writing that you are guaranteed a suitable amount of reduction, and that the clinic will redo you for free within a year's time if you are not happy. Go somewhere else if they cannot promise results. Sometimes cheaper isn't better. Will all clinics give a written guaranty? That would be really great. I am moving to a new city soon, i have to look for a new clinic. I cannot decide if I should go for a new treatment before my vacation (end of may). My last treatment was on March 24th. Should I wait and do it every 3 months ? I did till now ever 1,5 month or so, as the doctor told me that is the right thing to do. I don't trust him, he is just about making money.
AliceW Posted May 11, 2005 Posted May 11, 2005 I had laser hair removal on my bikini line (5 treatments), and almost all of the hair (i'd say 90-95% is gone! But so far it's only been a few months since my last treatment, so we'll see how long it lasts. I think it's very important to choose a good clinic that has well-trained clinicians and good machines. I did my homework before choosing the place I did, and I was very satisfied with the whole experience. My feeling is that it's probably best to pick a place that specializes in laser treatments, and that chains of clinics that have been in buisness for a while may get better results...but that's just my $.02.
Author Hasmik Posted May 11, 2005 Author Posted May 11, 2005 Thanks AliceW for sharing your experience. I was wondering how long you girls break before you go for the next treatment? It looks like I am still loosing some hair.
HotCaliGirl Posted May 12, 2005 Posted May 12, 2005 Originally posted by Hasmik I was thinking to purchase a small laser hair-removal machine and do it at home. What you girls think? The slow ones are much cheaper than say 4 many-area-treatments. Hasmik, it might be a waste of money to buy your own machine unless you fork out a lot of dough. My doctor said he paid over $500,000 for his machine, so I don't think anything that is affordable will really do the trick. I don't think it is safe for a non-technician who is untrained to handle laser, so if they provide those machines to the public for very cheap, I doubt you'll be seeing any real results. Like AliceW said, choose a good clinic, but I guess it's hard to find out which are good or bad. I know mine is good because of the star-clinetelle the doctor has and one gave me a personal referal to him. AliceW - my bikini area has turned out the most successful from all the body parts he has done. I think the nerve endings on the hair folicles are closer to the surface than on the legs maybe that's why...
goodnbad Posted May 14, 2005 Posted May 14, 2005 Aw, well, if you have went for the treatment and notice your hair growing back in a few months, that is not actually the same hair you are seeing. Hair goes through a growth and resting phase.....the growing hair follicles are what are treated on your first treatment. By the second month, you are seeing another set of 'new' hairs, which were previously dormant, coming up. If your hair didn't go through phases like this, you would all have 'bald' months, where ALL of our hair fell out and was replaced. This is why you never seem to notice much hair missing on your head. Some of it is always falling out and other hair in other follicles are replacing them. So you MUST go for treatments for at least a year, 3 months or so apart, in order for you to get ALL hair follicles. If anyone says they went for 6 months or so and said it didn't work, then it is because they haven't went long enough to get all the hair (and of course assuming that they are going back regularly as the technician says they should---many people give up because of the cost, the inconvenience, or just plain impatience). Laser removal is not a quick cure, but if you hang in there, it IS permanent, and reputable places WILL guarantee it as long as you follow their guidelines for re-treatment. I wish these places would be a little more honest about their pricing however. They often say stuff like, "full legs for $200" when in fact that means 200 bucks for the FIRST treatment (not counting the other 3 treatments you need in a year). Watch for that small print. Sneaky!
