Match.com uses fake accounts/emails to draw you back in?

Yes it IS very sad....but the sad truth is I that there are ALOT of very lonely people seeking love on line...who are vulnerable and ready to believe anything in exchange for some affection from the opposite sex.

hi katiegrl, i could not agree more. also, i would guess that around 33% of match.com's profiles are either fake or not in use.

It took me a while to realize when I got a message from a woman saying "hey want to get a drink? was spam. lol

What made you realize it was spam? Just curious.

 

Also, another poster posted (in a different thread) about women who would send him a message, but who never viewed his profile.

 

He thought it was because they were just looking for a texting buddy, when in fact, it's a very common tactic used by the site (match.com and others)..in order to give men the illusion many women are interested in them...to keep them (the men) coming back and renewing memberships.

 

Which is actually the subject of this thread.
