Overseas family

My bf and I are approaching 3 month mark. I met his (extended) family, he want to meet mine, he asked for it a few times. However, I'm concerned:

-my family is very far away - only option for now is a video call

-I'm not close with them in that respect - I never discussed guys/dating with them before (I'm turning 31 this year so it may appear strange... but it's fact)

 

I feel like if I don't arrange the call, it will strain our relationship. But I just don't know how to do it organically. Any advice/ideas? Shall I wait for an occasion? Or just swallow the anxiety and go for it?

If your family is far away and you don't want to do the video thing, simply assure him that if they ever come to visit or if there comes a point in time when you are ready to take him to them, you will introduce them. I would never go through the video thing only 90 days in.

Thanks for the advice, I assured him that but meeting in person can't happen before November-December this year for technical reasons. From his reaction, this seems to be a long wait for him.

 

The video stuff is quite uncomfortable for me because it is not coming natural (there is no particular reason to call), and as said, I never introduced my family to dates. I know that is important for my bf though, because he's raised in very traditional value system... So here comes the struggle.

Tell him to be patient. If he is unwilling to wait until you are comfortable or it's natural to introduce them, you have to consider other areas in the future where he may refuse to respect your boundaries.
