To all the guys with defeatist attitudes, just remember she married that guy.

She's already a successful actress, so no, it isn't about his money or fame. She could have her pick of GQ models or professional athletes, but she chose him.

OK..sorry, not a guy but who are they?

I don't recognise either of them.

The guy isn't ugly though, and looks like he's got a good personality... Who cares if he's not famous like her? (not sure who they are, didn't look super close)

Point is she's smoking and could have her choice of men. If I showed you her picture alone he is not the guy you would imagine standing next to her.

The guy is TJ Miller, just won an award for best supporting actor on Silicon Valley (great show if you get HBO). He's had a handful of smaller roles in several movies.

The girl is Kate Gorney. She's modeled for L'Oreal, Colgate, and other beauty type commercials; as an actress had a recurring role on Gossip Girl.

And yes Lyle Lovett is :lmao::lmao::lmao:

Stupid post, it's never been about looks.

He's a famous actor, dude, that's an "in" in any language.

Ehhh, I think there are a lot of shades of grey here that aren't being touched upon. It's not like TJ Miller is some bum off the streets. He's successful, talented, and funny as all hell.

Is your point just that she could have married a model who's equally as successful and talented at what he does (looking good?). Women don't care about looks as much you seem to think. Can you think of any successful female public figure married to a male model? I can't. I don't know if I can think of any instance where it was obvious a girl married a guy just for his looks. I see it happening the other way around pretty commonly.

A male model's talent is merely looking good. Believe it or not, women require a lot more than that in a guy -- and if looking good is his only talent, it's not good for him because lots of women like to be "the good looking one" and get insecure if someone pays more attention to their male counterpart than them (it's ridiculous, I know). Have you heard of the whole "dad bod" thing? It's the notion that a lot of girls actually prefer guys who are average looking and not totally ripped. It's insane to me, but a lot of girls hold this view: Why Girls Love The Dad Bod | The Odyssey, albeit for self-involved reasons.

I've found that women change around 23-24. They lose that fanatic, cute-boy-crazy mentality. They don't obsess over you or stalk you giggling in the halls. Sure, they still think guys can be good looking, but if that's all they are then it's not nearly enough. Men have to be interesting, engaging, entertaining to hold attention -- a T.J. Miller type. I'd bet you 99% of women would take an average guy who could make her laugh endlessly over a good looking guy with the personality of a rock.
