iceteaguy Posted May 31, 2015 Posted May 31, 2015 First I want to thank everyone at loveshack mainly in this section "break up" because I just had one and trying my best to move on and cope with separation anxiety.... knowing that my life for the past 4 years will never be the same and the person in my life is no longer part of my life. No more late night calls, text messages, skype calls etc.... I dont want to get her back at all but still the fact that there's no more "us" just me.... alone. I dont have a great support network at all (my family and I have poor communication, my friends/roomates are the type to say just "get laid" and get over it) So here I am at LoveShack and reading what some of you have been through and are going through and knowing that I'm not alone and that break ups is just part of a life experience, really really helps me a lot. I do allow myself maybe 1 hr of the day to think about her and grieve and cry (its been 4 days of NC) then I spend the rest of the day keeping busy, going out. For some weird strange reason, it hurts a little bit less reading your break ups and experiences, knowing that people are feeling the way I'm feeling, some even worse. I know I'm on here every day and night and it helps in some way. I just want everyone to know I'm stronger and wiser for your stories and experiences. I'm just in the beginning stages of healing and moving on and I know I can count on people here to help me be strong. Thanks!
Thecondor1991 Posted May 31, 2015 Posted May 31, 2015 Well its a cool community because we have all stumbled here for the same reason. We had a break up and didn't know how to deal with it. Just know that your not alone and If you ever want to talk, Let me know, I do find helping other people work through their problems makes me feel a lot better about mine. 1

I wish I had found LS years ago and may have been spared a very long time of suffering in silence all alone. There are a lot of caring and sincere helpful people here. You can also chime in and help others with situations you may have gone through before in your previous relationships. That will also serve as therapy for you as well.
darkbloom Posted May 31, 2015 Posted May 31, 2015 You're lucky you found loveshack so soon after your breakup. Had I known about this site earlier, I would have saved myself a lot of heartache. It gets easier the more time you stay NC. There's a thread titled 'post here instead of contacting your ex' and that is a lifesaver. You get to vent everything off your chest but maintain your self respect and dignity. It's magical. 2

Please remember you'll have those calls, messages, skype calls, etc. AGAIN -- and most of the other things you miss about your relationship, plus some awesome new ones -- when you have your next girlfriend. I honestly think 80% of what we miss most about our exes falls under the category of "generic relationship stuff"... things you always do with someone you're in love with -- and will do again with the next one. 4
kasop Posted May 31, 2015 Posted May 31, 2015 LS pretty much saved my life. Found it by searching for those awful "ways to get your ex back" guides. I wish i had discovered it long ago but still im happy to have found it when i did. I have come a long way sense. Reading these stories and advice have made my future without my ex a reality i want to live in. Plus everything ive learned will better the chances of a healthier relationship in the future. Im a stronger person now and will continue to grow stronger. Thanks to everyone on LS. 1
