rachel66 Posted May 26, 2015 Posted May 26, 2015 At the risk of opening a taboo subject, I was wondering how many others are in polyamorous relationships? My husband and I have been married for 30 years and have had a one sided open marriage for 9. I guess the correct term is polyandry since I've had another male partner for 9 years and two other male partners that I've become involved with more recently. While I'm hypersexual, I'm in love with my husband and my long time partner and I have deep feelings for the other two men. I'm 48 and my husband is in his early 60s. Our close friends have no idea we are in this kind of relationship.
MissBee Posted May 26, 2015 Posted May 26, 2015 I don't think this type of arrangement would work for me and I think it takes mature and secure people for it to work, or it can just otherwise end up being a mess. However, I think these kinds of arrangements are perfectly reasonable if it is discussed, certain boundaries are set, everyone in the situation knows what's what and chooses it versus the case of affairs or saying you're not monogamous while married and your spouse has no clue that you aren't.
jen1447 Posted May 27, 2015 Posted May 27, 2015 I'm poly! (Seems like a popular topic lately. ) I have 2 'for real" GFs, 1 BF, and numerous other women I have sexual relationships with. I guess I'm different from you OP in that me and my people are relatively (and variably) 'out' with it all. I don't go around advertising to my extended family forex but on the other hand I don't hide. If people ask, I'll tell them about my girlfriend"S" and boyfriend. Very happy here.
