Sweetgirl28 Posted May 26, 2015 Posted May 26, 2015 My boyfriend told me he wasn't sure if he still wanted to be with me and that he needed time to think things over. I suggested NC but he wanted to keep talking. Since that one conversation, he hasn't contacted me and it's been 4 days... On social media, our pictures and relationship status are still up. Will he contact me again? Or will everything gradually disappear? This is so frustrating because he didn't even give me a good reason.
Satu Posted May 26, 2015 Posted May 26, 2015 He's probably interested in somebody else, and wants you as plan b in case it doesn't work out. NC. 4
Tone Loc Posted May 26, 2015 Posted May 26, 2015 My boyfriend told me he wasn't sure if he still wanted to be with me and that he needed time to think things over. Will he contact me again? Or will everything gradually disappear? This is so frustrating because he didn't even give me a good reason. Not sure if he wants to be with you? There's the front door - he can eff right off, he needs to get lost and sling his hook. You don't need to concern yourself with whether he will contact you again. He doesn't need to provide a reason for breaking up with you. You don't need a reason. He's said enough - he told you he's not sure if he still wants you. He doesn't want you, otherwise he wouldn't have initiated this whole thing. You need to start full and complete no contact. Block him, delete his number, change your number. Make it impossible for him to contact you, you need to move on. If at some point in the future he decides he wants you, he will find a way to get through to you, but by then you may have already moved on and would want nothing more to do with him. This is why you go NC, you do it because you don't want to be in an on/off relationship. It's either a full, proper relationship or you break up permanently. He's either fully with you or he's out of the picture for good, there can't be any middle ground. So just to repeat, go no contact. Read up about no contact. He must not have any way to get through to you - either block his number or change your number. Also, block, delete and un-friend him on social media. Delete all pictures, delete all emails (block him on email too), get rid of anything that reminds you of him. 2
Meli22 Posted May 26, 2015 Posted May 26, 2015 Cowards way out. Ask him straight up what do you want? He cannot leave you hanging like this because of his own confusion. He either breaks it off with you or treats you with some respect.
Author Sweetgirl28 Posted May 31, 2015 Author Posted May 31, 2015 We are talking to each other again but it's still superficial. No talk about feelings yet. I don't know what to make of this?
La.Primavera Posted May 31, 2015 Posted May 31, 2015 It sounds like he wants to break up without having to deal with consequences of one. Perhaps he thinks that the longer he strings this out, the more you will get used to the idea, and the easier it will be on him. The superficial conversations you describe sounds like the beginnings of the gradual fade. I suspect he will also start dating again rather quickly so prepare yourself for that bombshell. One day you will check social media and the evidence of your relationship will be gone. You deserve better than this. 1
sandylee1 Posted May 31, 2015 Posted May 31, 2015 We are talking to each other again but it's still superficial. No talk about feelings yet. I don't know what to make of this? Take the power back and end it. Don't let a man dangle you on a string. If any guy ever suggested a break to me when I was dating, I'd be done. He's got you in limbo. Don't tolerate it.
Author Sweetgirl28 Posted June 1, 2015 Author Posted June 1, 2015 He is making plans to see me. It's still rather superficial, but I don't know what to make of it. Is he stringing me along?
Redhead14 Posted June 1, 2015 Posted June 1, 2015 He is making plans to see me. It's still rather superficial, but I don't know what to make of it. Is he stringing me along? Until his communication and planning to see you becomes consistent, you don't know anything. Date others and don't reach out to him first and only talk about the relationship if he brings it up. If he does want you back, you tell him that you are starting from ground zero. He needs to begin dating you and demonstrating a renewed and stronger interest in you. He also needs to demonstrate that he understands how much he's hurt you and in a big way. Until that happens, you move on with your life. Be busy and don't be available for any short notice meet ups.
Author Sweetgirl28 Posted June 16, 2015 Author Posted June 16, 2015 The coward broke up with me over email... He deleted all evidence of our relationship. The problem was supposedly me being intolerant against his mother. Apparently, he is a mommy's boy, and he wanted to take his mom on our next trip. I didn't like the idea, although I had met her before. Lame!
