If you are not familiar with my on-going problem with a now former friend, part of the back story is here: http://www.loveshack.org/forums/platonic/friendship/528281-leaving-door-open-reconciliation

Anyway, I need to send her a refund of $25. I got a pre-printed envelope from my bank with the branch's return address. I want to use that to send her the money because I'm afraid that if she sees my return address she will just rip up the envelope & never know I tried to send the money. The branch manager is my friend so if the check comes back, she'll return it to me.

I will also get a tracking # from the post office so I can tell my former friend got the envelope containing my check. Then if she doesn't cash the check in 90 days I can know to stop payment on it.

Is this an OK thing to do?

Does any body have a better suggestion?

I don't see why it would be a problem.

But why can't you wire her the money? That's quick and you can leave a note on it saying what it's for. Also since you can print a copy of your bank statement she can't ever say she never received it.

That was just a thought, but your original idea sounds fine.

I think that's the best option. You hang onto that receipt, too, just in case.
