dl02 Posted May 23, 2015 Posted May 23, 2015 Hi all, Yesterday has left me really confused. There's been a woman at work who always seemed to stare at me for a distance. Whenever passing she would lock eye contact and I'd say 'Hi'. She smiled and we walked past one another. I also found this odd/slightly intimidating. I have always known her as the quiet one. I'm 18 and she is 26. Yesterday, in my job I had no choice but to go and see her. We'd never had any interaction previously and we've worked at the same place for a year almost. As soon as I walked in she gave me a beaming smile and said 'Are you looking for me?'. I said yes and she smiled and told me the issues she was having and why she needed my help. Then the conversation turned from work in minutes to playful joking/insults and was full of laughter. She started talking to her friend who walked in and involved me in the conversation. Then I said something that could've been interpreted as sex talk, she winked and laughed. She only seems to be like this with people she knows? I could just be easy to talk to compared to others (I doubt it) but could she have more intentions?
d0nnivain Posted May 23, 2015 Posted May 23, 2015 Give your age/life stage differences and the fact that this was at WORK, I think she was just being friendly. Even if the banter was slightly flirtatious, it was an in the moment thing with no intent that you go beyond this. Do not ask her out. Do not hint that you like her. Be professional. Period. Also never made sexual remarks to co workers unless you are willing to bet your job that your comments will be well received.
