Am I the only who would reschedule a 1st meet due to RAIN?

When it comes to that first meet especially in the spring or summer, I don't think meeting in pouring down rain is something is a good idea. I think a first meet should be a NICE WEATHER day for us to walk and talk and have a nice time

Now if we already been on 3 or 4 dates I would not care because its not that very first meet. So just saying that first meet because it's hard to give off a good impression with a rainy ugly day and rain coming down and holding a umbrella.

Agree or Disgaree?

I wouldn't reschedule unless it was a weather disaster like tornado, hail, etc.

So you are cool with meeting on a RAINY THURSDAY when you have the option to meet on a sunny friday?

Errrrm....acts of God is a genuine reason to cancel a 1st meet. If your would be date is irked about this, and can't rationally accept another meet, then it's not your problem to worry about. Rain is not the only reason people cancel at times....work is another good reason i.e. last minute issue that came up, then there is traffic from road construction, etc

I am a walk around person as well for 1st meet. I am not a fan of a meal or sit in a coffee shop where everyone is looking and can tell you are on a date. It also leads to awkward moments of silence sometimes, but when you walk around there are things to see and it's an open area for safety purposes.

Plus when I date in May to Sept, I like to take advantage of the warm season and sit outside and do outdoor things. And when it's raining that is not good for two people meeting for the first time

You always seem to do your first meet/date at a place indoors. So what difference does it make if it's raining?

All the dates I had since May have been outside. I don't sit indoors when it's spring and summer

You're too rigid SMG.

Whether it's having to have a certain amount of phone calls before making plans, or any first date after May having to be outdoors, etc.. Sometimes you just have to go with the flow and adapt to certain situations. If it rains, you simply plan something indoors that is inexpensive like ice cream.

So if you see it pouring down raining outside today and know from the weather report that it will be sunny and clear tomorrow, what would be wrong with rescheduling to tomorrow if you are both free??

I'd probably try to go through with it even with a tornado lol (then again I live in sort of tornado country so it's not seen as as big of a deal). I'd be worried she'd lose interest before the next date came up.

She might cancel on me, but for me to cancel would probably require Godzilla attacking my city, or maybe a sharknado.

I hope you don't live in England. You'd never have a first date here.

I'm big on atmosphere so that's why nice weather is so important to me. I can't tell you how many times I am on the way home and say to myself-"damm this is a nice weather day for a date"

If raining is the norm where you are then I would probably still go through with the date

If both people are free it's fine.

But I think it could have a great effect to let a woman know you want to see her regardless. Like if I planned an outdoor meet and it was raining, I'd call and say "It's raining so we can meet outdoors. But I'd still like to see you, so let's grab an ice cream instead." Being able to live in the moment, adapt, and be a bit spontaneous shows good leadership skills which women like.

Yeah, sure, unless the plans were to go do something that required good outdoor weather and neither wanted to change the destination. I'm no sissy! Hell, it's been raining where I live for a month straight. Plus tornadoes. It's not usually so rainy in Texas though. I think a nice thing to do when it's raining, as long as it's not dangerous out, is to go to some restaurant where there's either a woodsy view or a skyline view.

But if the plan is to sit outside and it's raining then you reschedule

I think the reason why SMG wants to be outdoors is to save money. So I doubt he'd want to plan an alternative date at a restaurant. But that's why I brought up something inexpensive like ice cream instead.

The plan was to eat ice cream outside near the water not inside.

Well it's not like you had a trip to the beach planned where the setting is the date. It's eating ice cream together. Does the outdoors make nice scenery? Sure. But in the end, you can have ice cream anywhere and what matters is her company.

It's funny because I actually do have a soft spot for you, and genuinely want you to succeed. But dude..you sound so rigid and set in your ways. Sometimes life doesn't go according to plan. You have to adapt and think on your feet.
