Road trip with a girlfriend will run me about 1500 dollars

I really do want to take a road trip vacation and I have an idea where. It is a 6 hour drive to where I am going. Here are the figures. Gasoline bill 220$. Food bill 300$. Entertainment 170$. 3 nights stay in a good clean hotel is 125 a night. Actually it will be 250$ a night because I want to book separate rooms. I don't want to sleep in the same room with my girlfriend.

 

I have saved up a long time for this and have thought through the cost. I have plenty of money left in my savings account even after spending 1500 bucks.

I think you are seriously underestimating your food costs for 2 people.

 

Does your GF know you want separate rooms? If it's a hotel that doesn't have inside hallways to the room doors separate rooms may be a safety consideration for her.

I only eat one meal a day so there will be certain times she will be eating that I won't. So that's why my food bill is 300 bucks. I eat 1 big breakfast and that's it for the rest of the day. So the rest of the day the meal costs are just for 1 person.
