While I'm not much of a crier, I agree with Katie that if I find myself crying over something that's oddly emotionally triggering, the best thing to do is make me laugh!

Twice in the past year I got stupidly teared up while talking with a friend at work, and both times he took it in stride, didn't get alarmed, and instead made me laugh and quite quickly my spirits were lifted and I dried my tears realizing I'd been so silly to cry anyway!

Please don't ever feel silly for crying Phoe .... it's good to cry, like I said it's a release of emotions, which is healthy! So is laughing!!!

Many people are unable to do either ..... and they're the ones who usually have the pent up emotions and unresolved issues we are advised to stay away from. Generally speaking.

I cry AND laugh at the silliest things .....sometimes both simultaneously!

Nothing to feel ashamed of or silly about... :) :)

I'm definitely a laugher.

I laugh and giggle when happy and excited. Sometimes I need to tone it down with the laughing, get myself going til I snort.

Other times I laugh in negative situations. I can laugh when I'm angry or hurt. In high school my mother came home and told me that a friend of mine who had cancer had just died. I looked at her blankly for about 10 seconds then burst into nervous hysterical laughter, and within a few minutes was bawling on the floor.

^^ It's okay Phoe .......reminds me of the Mary Tyler Moore episode (old show from the 70s)..where Mary cracked up laughing during the funeral of Chuckles the Clown.

When the minister told her it was okay and good to laugh and that Chuckles would love knowing he brought such laughter.....suddenly she starting crying hysterically!

It's ALL good! :)
