Met with a girl from a POF tonight and i did a good job in BREAKING THE ICE. You know, talking about stuff that is just filler info which I did in the beginning. Then we went to the Mexican restaurant and had a nice meal. But after we left the mexican place we noticed a carnival and she was like....."wanna go?

I really didn't want to go because going to a carnival and playing for games and rides wasn't planned for since I have to do something for my mom's birthday next weekend. So I was getting concerned because I had already budgeted out my money for the weekend and had nothing left over for games and rides at a carnival-lol So we just walked around the carnival and she hinted at wanting to get on a certain ride but I never did. But all and all it was a good date. There will definitely be a second date and I don't have to guess about this one.

Weird part of the date: Music started playing in the mexican restaurant and she got up and started dancing and wanted me to join her. Since i'm since of course I said No LOL

Are you sure there will be a second date?

What the heck does "since I'm since" mean!?!?!

And why do you think it is funny (referring to your "LOL") that a girl wanted you to dance and you wouldn't?

There might be a second date, but I doubt it will go much further if you have such different interests about what to do on a date.

How long was your way home? That could be like 2 texts. Did she say anything about how the date went?

She said in a text she didn't expect it to take me that long to get home and said if she had known she could have let me stay at her place and leave in the morning

Yea she is outgoing and probably easy so stop being so uptight. You could be with her right now!

Well how often does someone dance in a restaurant? lol

I've danced in an antique shop, resteraunt, party when no one else would, etc.. You should have danced with her. Women love that crap and the other women in the resteraunt would have been jealous that their SO's weren't doing the same.

As for the money situation, just tell her you have to buy your mom something next time. A) she'll understand and b) a woman will appreciate that you're buying your mom a gift for her birthday.

The sleeping over invite sounds quite promising though.

Restaurant and carnival for a first meet.

We are really preaching in the desert aren't we.

There may never be a second date and you would have busted your mom's birthday budget on a stranger.

I'm glad you had a good time and hope you'll get a second date.

If the music is good and the moment is right, why not? I think you missed a golden opportunity to connect with the girl.

And I'm not "LOL" - this isn't a laughing matter...

Sure, Gaeta is right about not spending money at the carnival, but loosening up with a willing girl wouldn't have killed you.

He didn't do anything wrong Carrie, if he wasn't comfortable dancing, he shouldn't be made to feel bad for not doing so. He is shy; in time he WILL feel more comfortable and then they can dance till dawn. This was only a first date.

Not to mention, it doesn't appear to have made much difference to his date, since they texted all the way home!

smg ....I can feel your excitement -- good for you!!! Deep breaths, don't over-think and enjoy!

And keep us updated! :bunny::bunny:

Yes this was the first date this year that I knew she was interested before it ended. Another clue is when I told her the white shirt I was wearing probably would be a shirt she won't see again and her response was

" oh is that your way if saying you don't want to see me again? Lol

Don't wait too long, otherwise the connection you had on your first date will die.

Remember, you don't need a lot of money to spend time and have a good time.

A walk in the park or on the beach, a walk in town exploring and sharing some homemade pie at a cool cafe or some ice cream..

If she is into you, which it sounds like she is, she will love just spending time with you, getting to know you better...don't get all hung up on thinking you have to spend money.

Okay? Two weeks is too long for your next date! You (both of you together) will lose the connection. You need to keep it going and the connection you made alive!

Too far.

She will keep on meeting and that's going to play against you.

Fix a mid-week date with her. Go for an ice cream.

A first time meeting with a match from OLD, should simply be a short meet up to make sure the person is who they say they are and match their picture. You don't spend a lot of money on a first meet.

It's nice that you had a nice time with her and if she goes out with you again, that will be great. Oftentimes, though, you may find that if you ask a woman for the first time meeting to go on an actual date, they will go on the date for a free meal and a good time even if they weren't that interested in you.

But, good luck with this one! You never know :)

The only time I don't mind paying for a free meal is if she is picking me up and taking me to a certain restaurant because of it being in her area.

If she is picking you up and taking you to a restaurant in her area on a first meet up . . . I'd be wary of desperateness and/or intentions. And, It is not smart for a woman to pick a strange man up in her car or to ride in a virtual stranger's car for two reasons a) she doesn't know him yet and b) if the meet up didn't go well, she may be stuck in the car with him for a little while too :) That situation goes for the guy as well :)

Women know I'm legit once they speak to me on the phone.
