I sometimes feel like an old man. I often have to pee 3 or 4 times before going to bed. And this in the span of hour. The rest of the day I just hold it in. It's summer so if I drink 4 glasses of water I'm fine. In winter I drink 3 glasses. If I drink any more I have to pee too much. There is no way I can drink 8 glasses of water and not be stuck permanently in the bathroom.

At first I was thinking Diabetes but my blood sugar is normal. I read somewhere that Obesity can cause increase the amount you pee because of increased pressure on the bladder. Is this true? Does anyone have experience with this?

Have you had your prostate checked lately? An enlarged prostate can prevent your bladder from emptying completely. Thus causing multiple trips to the restroom.

Never been obese but have been, by LS standards, overweight my entire life and never noted any issues relevant to urination from being overweight. About the only time I ever think about urination is when drinking coffee, meaning old-fashioned caffeinated coffee, which does stimulate urination.

I'm not 'old' but mid-50's, and am seeing how prostate problems in male friends find them urinating frequently and with some distress. So far, no issues here.

I can see, from a physical standpoint, how extra abdominal fat can put pressure on the bladder, especially when constrained with clothes, a belt, etc, and cause a feeling of fullness and impulse to urinate. That's easily tested. Loosen the belt or pants and see how it feels. If the impulse goes away, then it's likely the fat pushing against the bladder. If not, other issues.

I don't know.

But sometimes it's psychological.

I'm 27 years old female and in the normal weight range.

For some months I had to pee 3 times in a row before bed. How annoying!

The rest of the day the frequency was normal.

At some point I said to myself "you won't go more than once!".

And guess what. I didn't. To this day.
