I know its nothing outstandingly huge, but do it made me a bit confused as to why someone would ask such a thing? Maybe she likes me or just fishing for compliments or just maybe I am over thinking this! Thank you.

Unless she's really insecure about her accent, i wouldn't take it as anything as an opening to a conversation. It's like a chance for you to flirt that she's giving you.
