Don't really have an interest in dating, will I ever be interested in it again?

My ex left me when I was sick and I am pretty certain that is why I could care less about dating. I've been single for two years. I've lightly dated people but don't seem to have an interest of making things committed. Everything was so good with my ex, chemistry was so different than any of my past relationships. He moved here to be with me, month later I got sick and he ended things with me. He only got closure so he could get a clear his conscience (his words not mine). Its like I get envy of the other cute couples because that was us at one point. It is funny when I dress up I get hit on. Yet when I do want a relationship I don't get the time of day from guys. Haha

It sounds like you're kind of interested in dating now tbh, since you do it from time to time. ;)

I think you just need to work out the angst of being betrayed like that. People who have bad experiences like yours can easily fall into the trap of assuming that all experiences will be bad experiences, so if you get too wrapped up in that mentality, yeah, it could have an impact on your relationship future. But you still seem to want something, so if you can use that desire to pull yourself back up, there's hope.

Have you ever spoken to a therapist/psychologist?

I know the feeling, except for me it's with women.

Like jen1447 said, you've been hurt really bad and are very hesitant in getting into another relationship. One day you will want it again, but not right now. If you like to date, then just enjoy it, but be forthright about it. Don't go on dates just for the ego boost, and end up misleading a guy that is genuinely interested. Eventually you will heal and learn to trust again.
