ClickToRead Posted May 6, 2015 Posted May 6, 2015 Hi everyone, I have been dating someone for a few months. I am 44 and he is 34. He had no idea how old I was but I didn't hide it either. When he asked I told him. I look extremely young (early 30s) and he was shocked. I believed we were a perfect match. He is everything I have looked for (save for age, no preference on age) and never found until now. He fits my physical preferences to a tee. I have recently found out I do not match his preferences that he had on two dating sites (we had discussed dating sites, we did not meet on one). In addition, he had purposely blocked women my age. When I asked him, he said it was because of having children and the length of time involved. He has 18-34 listed. Everything listed is what I am not. I am able to have children (verified with a doctor), but there are no guarantees. He says he loves me. He wants to get married because I am the one. Please help me understand how to not think I am holding him back. I do not want to be the reason he does not have biological children. He says he wants to be with me even if we cannot have children. His profile said he wants them. I am blonde, blue eyes, very feminine and what he was looking for was not that. He specifically said certain physical traits I cannot meet. neowulf Posted May 6, 2015 Posted May 6, 2015 It's been shown many times in the last that what people "say" they want is often very different to what ends up working for them. Those preferences in his profile were made in a vacuum. He'd never met a woman like you. Never considered he could fall in love with her, like he has with you. Life is messy, it seldom cares for our plans. It's so hard to find a connection, to find love these days. Don't run from it, now that you've finally found something special. 2
