smg15 Posted May 5, 2015 Posted May 5, 2015 Some woman I was talking to lady night stated that most women do something with the phone after a date. I told her that when I was job seeking I would turn off my ringer and check for messages at a latee time. So she said women turn off the phone after a date if she likes the guy and check to see if he called or left a message later in the day. And then said if it's no call or message it's disappointing. Lol Has anyone woman done this?
RoseVille Posted May 5, 2015 Posted May 5, 2015 If I think I'll be constantly checking my phone or waiting wanting to hear from him, I'll turn my phone off or even hide it from myself or make it awkward to get to.

Lol Has anyone woman done this? I kinda understand that thinking. It's about managing emotions and expectations for both really. But, I don't agree with that. Most of the time, I'd like to see a message from the guy if he enjoyed the date and checks to see if I made it home safely and/or I'll send a message to thank him for the date at least. What's the difference if she gets disappointed right after the date or the next day?

Lol Has anyone woman done this? I've never done this. I imagine maybe if you feel you're constantly checking your phone and it makes you nervous then you'll do it but it's certainly not a standard thing most women do after a date. I've never done this after a first date or any date. I've never had friends say they do it either. I've only done this in the case of this one breakup where I kept checking my phone to see if my ex messaged me, so I turned my phone off or I would leave it at home for a few hours and go out so I would have peace of mind from checking. Otherwise, nope.
acrosstheuniverse Posted May 5, 2015 Posted May 5, 2015 Nope never done it. I have put my phone in a kitchen cupboard downstairs before and then installed a facebook blocker on my browser to help myself focus intently for periods of time when writing an essay or dissertation but never after a date lol. I mean the thought has crossed my mind when waiting for a text or call from a partner or something when you jump at any sound and feel disappointed it's not them, but I always think that chances are, the whole time my phone is off I'll be wondering whether there'll be something on it to go back to anyway, and if I check it after a pre determined time and it's still empty the crushing disappointment would be even worse than just a steady drip drip drip of hearing nothing lol. I'd rather just have my phone on while I live my life and if I hear something so be it, if not no worries. But I've never been one to sit on my phone waiting for it to make a sound anyway. I just get on with other stuff if I'm waiting for an important call or text.
loveweary11 Posted May 5, 2015 Posted May 5, 2015 Definitely false. No woman I've ever known has turned off her phone... ever. 2

Necris Posted May 6, 2015 Posted May 6, 2015 For me with the very few dates I've had the woman will not answer and disappear into the void never to be heard from again...
Author smg15 Posted May 6, 2015 Author Posted May 6, 2015 I used to do this when my phone and internet was on the same line. It was just a piece of mind not knowing whats going on lol
Omei Posted May 6, 2015 Posted May 6, 2015 I dont do anything with my phone after a date when im home I plug it back into the charger as usual.
anduina Posted May 6, 2015 Posted May 6, 2015 I haven't done this before. Guys are usually pretty good about sending follow up texts.
