OKC may not be the greatest but at least there are some women on there that I have been talking to. Sure, OLD in general can be messed up but POF...WOW. Holy bottom of the barrel Batman. I feel like I'm dirty just from joining. Ive never seen such classless, illiterate dopes in my life. It's like prostitute central in that place or that Im in some grungy hotel where the wallpaper is peeling off. I cant explain it.

 

That is my rant for the day.

I tend to have more success on craigslist than on POF and OKC.

Yup I can attest, I stopped going to POF yrs ago. It's the Walmart of on-line dating.

OKC really isn't all that much better but I've had better experiences there.

 

No matter what the age this is how OLD typically works and yes IMO people are shallow.

 

Below average looking women can try to pull an average looking guy who wouldn't give them a second look.

 

Average women can pull the hot jock looking guy who ignored her in high school.

 

Hot women (even "slightly" hot) can pull... Whoever they want; whenever they want

 

Pretty ones won't be on-line very long, they get bombared with messages. They will show interest and then disappear and re-appear with interest a couple weeks later. Then you try to set something up and they are busy, maybe some other time....ha ok.

 

Not only this but it's a revolving door, if her "needs" aren't being met all she has to do is jump back on-line to find her "soulmate" to meet her needs.

That's why I like Craigslist better because it;s not a lot of guys posting pics so my ad may stand out a bit more versus being on POF or OKC

I got 2 dates this week from posting on craigslist and no replies from OKC and POF due to women having access to so many pics. That's why you can't take rejection personal online because it's so many men for women to choose from that it makes them a bit more picky without them even realizing it.

It isn't even rejection in OLD, the women have so many options that if you get a response you're lucky. That's why a 20% response rate is considered good in OLD. 20% in anything else in life would be considered a miserable failure. OLD should just be a little extra thing on the side to picking up women in real life. The grocery store in the morning on weekends is my main pick up spot. Not all women go to the local bar, not all women go to the local coffee shop. But 100% of them go to the grocery store. Everybody needs to eat and get basic necessities. As long as you're confident and good at small talk it's really easy. But even then it's a numbers game. Some have boyfriends, some say they have boyfriends and some don't return texts.

Ha! The 'grungy hotel' feeling is what I got whenever I looked through ads on Craigslist (eww) or at guys' profiles on POF (yuk) lol :laugh: I've been on OKC before - and although it's not the top of the line OLD - it was decent enough where I've found a few guys with whom I was interested in and went on a few dates with. I deleted my account there back in February because I went on a dating hiatus.

 

E-harmony and Match.com seems like a cheesy way to go and honestly, I really don't feel like filling out a long ass questionnaire or having to pay monthly for an OLD site. When I jump back into the dating scene, I'm hoping that something will pan out for me IRL so that I can skip OLD altogether. I was thinking of maybe trying Zoosk sometime down the road just to see what it's like; I've seen their ads a few times but don't know if it's a pay site or if it's free.

I have tried both. I have found OKC to be quite good where I live. There is a reasonable mix of people on the site, probably something for everyone. Out of all the sites I have tried I have definitely got the most replies from OKC. That said I am not convinced by OKC's matching system though. Dates from OKC have not really gone any better than when I tried Match.com. Also, probably because it is a free site there do seem to be quite a few girls on there who have no real intention of meeting up.

 

POF on the other hand I just could not stand. If you have absolutely no standards and are willing to be ignored by people with unrealistically high expectations then POF is the place for you. Otherwise POF is best avoided in my view. Plenty of Flakes would be a better name for it.

I've used both and by far have had more success on OkCupid. I don't feel like anyone takes POF all that seriously. Ok Cupid does a better job engaging people with how they setup the profiles. So when people put effort into it, they're likely to be engaged in the process on the backend.

I'm talking about if they view your profile after you send them a message and never respond back. That same girl on craigslist would probably respond to me because of the less competition.

I've also had good success with OKC. I've taken the time as well to answer a lot of the questions that go into their matching formula, and that indeed the women who had the highest match percentages with me were women I was interested and the ones with a low matching percentage I definitely was not interested in - so that part worked for me.

OKStupid or Plenty Of Flakes can work, it depends on where you live.

 

 

Match.com is the best. Generally, the people are better quality.

In my area plenty of fish has more of the obese tatted thug lover type. Okcupid has much better and nicer gals, but most you'll like are just on there to flirt and chat with no intention of actually meeting. They either don't respond, respond a couple of times, don't respond when you ask for their number or refuse to give it out to someone they haven't meet (it's just an excuse, they'll end up wasting your time if you keep messaging) or give you their number but only wanna text, stop texting you or never wanna talk on the phone.

 

Okay, it works, you have to understand the way it works. You date down, (speaking objectively or universally, not like his cute in my eyes) if you're average or slightly above, you get overweight or unattractive. If you're hot, you get average or kinda cute and if you look like a model, you get almost anything you want. Lol

 

And gals wonder why guys are only looking for sex. LMAO
