nastyex22 Posted April 30, 2015 Posted April 30, 2015 I'd like to ask opinions on this situation.... My girlfriend lives 2.5 hours away from me. I have been in the process of finding a new job and have expected to move to that city -- she's been begging! She doesn't work nearly as much as I do -- I have long hours. But, she will travel daily to be in my city -- just to have dinner with me and then stay over night -- or drive back to her town with me. She says she doesn't want me to have to drive alone ....or sleep alone. So, she will sometimes do a daily commute -- 6 hours round trip. And "I' Have done the same...to be near her. We are in love... and enjoy every second together, but I have felt bad about her constant driving and it certainly isn't upon my request. If I tell her that she could just wait at home...and I'll be back the next night -- she immediately takes it personally ...
ExpatInItaly Posted May 1, 2015 Posted May 1, 2015 It's very generous of her to make the trip to you, but it seems to me that she might be a bit clingy and needy. I say this because she takes it personally when you suggest she stay home. 6 hours of driving in one day is quite a lot. Does she she have outside interests and friends too? You say shes begging you to move to her city - is that something you want to do? I'd be a bit concerned about the lack of balance, and that she might be making you the centre of her whole world.
