Should I text him before he goes on holiday to show I care or should I ignore him

Hi I really like this guy and we have been on two dates together. He is going on holiday tomorrow for 4 days. Last time when we parted ways he said he will see me when he gets back and I told him to have a good holiday. That was three days ago.

 

He hasn't texted me since ( he is not big on texting). Should I send him a text tonight to say 'have a safe trip?'

 

Because so far I've been not initiating any texts so that any texts I receive are initiated from him so I can gauge his interest level. Or should I send one so that he knows I remember and that I care?

I don't think you'd lose anything by wishing him a happy holiday.

Sending him a "bon voyage, happy trails, safe travels" message is fine. Just don't say "I'll miss you, call me, or let's get together when you get back."

I'd leave it alone. You already told him to have a good holiday. Doing again is kinda overkill. Let him contact you again after the trip. Don't look for anything during the trip from him at this point. It's only been two dates and, if he's having a good time, he should be focusing on that. It doesn't mean anything at this point if he doesn't contact you during the trip.
