Hi quick question my ex broke my heart 6 mts back after 2 yrs together saying she didn't want be together anymore as didn't fancy me. (note I'm a girl also) anyways we have kids each from prev rel. Her child is my goddaughter. We continue to live together for them and bills. Once a week I ask her to mind my youngest so I can give my oldest us time. Or if iv to go shop il ask her for half hour odd days but alot times she makes me feel crap if i ask by making it difficult but If she asks me she knows il mind her child no problem. Anyways she texted me this mornin (cudnt even ask me face) she asked wud i mind her child for 2 weeks 4 hours a days so she can do some work. Should I do it or ask for something in return. I love her child as my own so I don't mind but I feel used sometimes she didn't even write pls. Help pls and thanks??

If the relationship is over move out. You don't remain in a 2 year relationship for the sake of the children. You 2 think you are doing this for the sake of the kids but in reality this arrangement is hurting them more than helping. Children are filters, they can feel the bitterness and animosity between you 2. What you are doing is teaching them that it's ok to be with someone that you don't love anymore.

Yes this woman is taking advantage of you. She knows your feelings for her children and she is milking it for all it's worth. If you want to do it, do it. If you don't want to do it then say no. If you go ahead and do it then you know she is taking advantage.

I'm not seeing how she's being unfair or you are being used by her asking for two weeks when once a week--for how long?-- you've been leaving your youngest to go do stuff with your oldest. What I'm seeing is that she's asking for reciprocity, but you're not seeing that because you're in your feelings over her.

It might be a good idea for you two to not live together if resentment is starting to breed like this over the care of children you both say you love.

Because you are both still under the same roof, you don't have much of a choice. It's certainly not the kids' fault. However, the whole situation is unhealthy. When will one of you move? Nobody heals while you are still in close quarters.
