It could be worse... I was on an okcupid date last year. I clearly have my pics up to date and I listed myself as 5'7 which is true. I drive an hour to meet her, get to the date and wait for her for a half hour. She's no where to be seen. Then I get a text 30 min later, "I'm here"... I told her where I was..20-30 min later still no girl, but could clearly tell she was playing with me because she kept texting me she couldn't find me. Finally I had enough and tell her I'm leaving and she goes.... "CATFISHED!!! You're so short!!!! You're a loser hahaha!!!"

Wow!! that is one mind blowing story!! I can only say I'm sorry.

Oh hon that really is very crass and very unpleasant behavior. Thank God you found out now.

The secret to being stood up I have found is to just enjoy it anyway! Some of my best nights out have ended up being with random strangers I have met when being stood up!

Don't bother with her ever again. NEXT!

That sucks. So far I've not had an OKC date stand me up. What I notice is that it seems 1/3rd of the people there are looking for validation not actual dates.

According to Tinder they process 1 Billion swipes a day and only 12 million mutually like eachother. So if we are all getting dates set up we are either in then top 1.2% or we just ask out so many people. :)

This happened to me once from OKCupid as well. Yours sounds bad and I feel for you, so I'll try and help out by one-upping your awful experience!

Here's how I got stood-up...

This girl wanted to meet me for a dinner. She initiated the contact and meeting, which I took as showing excitement (LOL nope). I made the reservations for the following night.

Fast forward to that evening. I drove 45 minutes into town and spent 20 minutes getting ready. I arrive and she messages me 5 minutes before our meeting time with this:

"Hey, I just got out of work! Are you in town?"

I say yes, then she says:

"I might go to a bar instead."

... I'm confused what she's inferring, but whatever. I inquire and she says:

"I got drunk at work."

... AND THAT'S IT. I didn't hear from her the rest of the night. None of those 3 messages make any logical sense and she didn't care to explain what they meant, a.k.a. if she was taking a rain check, if she was cancelling, if she was still on but was gonna be late. Nada LOL

Anyway, she apologized the next day but I moved on. What a weird way to be stood up, right?! All you can do is laugh and move on haha. Online dating is not for the faint of heart!

I was confident you was going to say it was because she had

1. a dying relative

OR

2. she was sick

lol

Nope. Just because she got drunk at work... right before our alleged date night. Yep, it doesn't get much classier than that!
