So office morale is at it's absolute lowest right now in my department. We used to be a great team and due to external forces and unorganized change, I'm now stuck in a toxic workplace. Everyone complains all the time, feels lost, and even fight with each other now. It's really sad to see this happening. :( I try my best to have a positive attitude and bring everyone up, but it's becoming more and more difficult each day.

My boss will be out on Monday and I've been asked to lead our weekly team meeting. I am excited to do so because she is part of the toxicity going around and I'm hoping to bring just a little bit of light into this meeting. (Every meeting with her begins with something negative and only gets worse). Before I hit the agenda points, I'd like to do a team building activity and have some fun for once. I've found a lot on the Internet, but I'd like to hear from people who have actually tried them with success.

Please help me by sharing your tried and tested team building ideas! TIA

My boss took a negative "gossipy group" and turned it around into a fun project.

Its called "Who knew". Each team member Has to fess up one thing about their job that they do , write it down, and then everyone else had to guess which employee they were talking about . It got to be hilarious by the time it got around the table. People seriously didn't realize some of the mundane or even outlandish stuff being put upon them.

Bottom line, we each ( as gossipy " as people can be), changed their tune about that personnel. "Who knew!"

Even My Boss learned alot from that session, and a few things actually changed for the better from him hearing about some tasks from the people themselves.
