Personally I like to put on a good quality scent. But can you tell the difference?. And if a guy was wearinng a cheap scent would it make him to you less attractive?.

people with sensitive noses can sometimes tell the difference. There are more flowers in the base note which makes expensive fragrance & more of a cheap substitute in other products. Cheap fragrances have a harsher note

That said, I wouldn't make too many really negative assumptions about somebody wearing cheap fragrance other than they had bad taste in fragrance. A new scent would probably be one of the 1st gifts I gave them.

I have a very sensitive nose, and a man's scent is one of the first things I notice and are attracted to.

I couldn't care less what the fragance is so long as he's clean and the scent fits him. If he smells like a college locker room at age 35, we've got problems.

Cheap or expensive doesn't make a difference.

I'd say that what matters is what she likes on you, not what you like.

I think it depends on the smell, some cheap perfumes smell OK but they do not last, some perfumes smell dreadful no matter how much the cost.

It needs to be suited to the man and suited to the occasion, a stronger scent at midnight may be perfect, but at lunch time filling the coffee bar it may be all wrong.

Some perfumes are just too common, some are very nice, but may bring back memories, good and bad...

Do not overdo it, better to smell of nothing but shower-gel and shampoo than fill the restaurant and the street outside with some overpowering scent ...

I can't stand cologne of any kind and sometimes.

When a guy is drenched in it; immediate deal-breaker...

Personally I don't pay much attention to fragrances. For some reason I do love the smell of deodorant (for men of course!) though.

There are budget scents that smell elegant. One of my favourites is Activist by the Body shop. Yum!

From what I am understanding from the responses in this thread, I need to look for a good shower gel and avoid using colognes until I can find out which one would work on my body.

It would suck to buy cologne and find out women is repulsed by it.

Aqua Di Gio has never failed me. :D

I'm most pleased by a guy just smelling clean. Shower and deodorant.

I have a coworker who seems to bathe in cologne and my nose HURTS for it...

Fun fact. Women have a more sensitive sense of smell than men do. So boys, wash and use soap on your balls, a$$, and everything else attached to you body.
