Mrin Posted April 12, 2015 Posted April 12, 2015 Great question. On the one hand, it is the woman in the body that matters not the body on the woman. I mean that sincerely. I've met women who are overweight and are WAY more sexy than a woman who fits into a size 4. And vice versa. Confidence in your own body is worth 20 pounds or 2 dress sizes, either direction. All that being said, I've been with women of all shapes and sizes. I prefer curves myself. I'm not a big boobs guy but do appreciate them. I like curves at the waist and hips and great legs. Thankfully my soulmate is drawn like Jessica Rabbit so I am one happy camper. The only body type I am not a big fan of is the super skinny woman. I came to that realization a year or so ago with a model I was dating. My biceps were bigger than her thighs and I felt like i was engaging in some sort of pedophilia. I think it would have been okay if she were petite - proportional. But she was 5'9' and stick thin. 1
mysteryscape Posted April 12, 2015 Posted April 12, 2015 Different men like completely different types. Many men like several types. 11
Gary S Posted April 12, 2015 Posted April 12, 2015 There are all types of ladies. Some are tall, some are petite, and others are voluptuous. When a gentleman falls in love with a woman, an interesting thing happens. Any flaws she thinks she may have just melt away and are nonexistent in his eyes. She begins to look better to him than she really is, when seen through the romantic, rose-colored glasses we call true love. (You know, I just had to say it) 12
umirano Posted April 12, 2015 Posted April 12, 2015 bigger girls, tall with some meat on their bones, with long hair, that's hot. In addition to that, dark hair doesn't hurt.
loveweary11 Posted April 12, 2015 Posted April 12, 2015 bigger girls, tall with some meat on their bones, with long hair, that's hot. ^^^^ Exactly the opposite of what I like, which goes to show you... we all prefer different things, just as women prefer different types of guys. 4
Hawaii51 Posted April 12, 2015 Posted April 12, 2015 My favorite one is always my last one. She was 5'10 and slender with not too much of a bum, but her mammaries made up for it. Not only that, but the way she'd traipse her body across me, crawl over me, and wrap her legs around me. I've snubbed that last few shorties that have walked my way :/
123321 Posted April 12, 2015 Posted April 12, 2015 What body type do men prefer? Can't speak for all men but for me, I like it all, except no plumpers and no fake body parts.
Harold of Andraste Posted April 12, 2015 Posted April 12, 2015 I like fit with curves. Butt, legs and arms toned from being a dancer but still soft and squishy where it counts
fitnessfan365 Posted April 12, 2015 Posted April 12, 2015 Curvacious, voluptuous, hourglass, yet fit (no online versions) with long hair and full lips. 2
Leigh 87 Posted April 12, 2015 Posted April 12, 2015 Curvacious, voluptuous, hourglass, yet fit (no online versions) with long hair and full lips. That's me!
d0nnivain Posted April 12, 2015 Posted April 12, 2015 What body type do men prefer? Yours is a ridiculous Q. It's like asking what ice cream flavor do men prefer? Each individual will have his own preferences. The secret is finding a man who likes your body. Any guy who wants you to change your body is not the one for you. 7
Phoenician Posted April 12, 2015 Posted April 12, 2015 A real man would like a real women body ; hence no matter how she looks ; when she is a real venus she will be able to light the flame in a man heart . A real venus is charmant ,she can turn me on without she speak , she has respects to my normal desires ... she is funny ,appreciating ,active and caring . apart from this I want nothing ... 1
Author Naturalbeautyisbest Posted April 12, 2015 Author Posted April 12, 2015 Yours is a ridiculous Q. It's like asking what ice cream flavor do men prefer? Each individual will have his own preferences. The secret is finding a man who likes your body. Any guy who wants you to change your body is not the one for you. Really? My question is so ridiculous that men and women have come up with the term "butterbody". Or the fact that people comment all the time on Meagan Trainer's song: All About That Base, as if there is some "debate" about the topic, what's hot and what's not? Please, I purposely asked this question, because I myself, have an hourglass shape, thick legs, and a small waste, with long black hair, and a beautiful face, natural. Yet, men seem to want to talk with the petit women, with no curves at all. Yes those women are still beautiful, and so am I. On the other hand, im not sure why I get second picked then, if my question is so ridiculous, or not picked at all for that reason. I am a size 12/14.
Author Naturalbeautyisbest Posted April 12, 2015 Author Posted April 12, 2015 and just to add, I have been a size 6/8 before, and I had more men approach me then, as opposed to the amount of men who approach me now at size 12/14. I still look healthy, in all the right places, so I put that question out there, what body type do men prefer, b/c at the end of the day, yes I like my body, although I want to LOVE my body and go back to a size 8. But I also would like to know what men would think about this body type 12/14 as well, since the change in attitude towards has changed from men. Thanks.
d0nnivain Posted April 12, 2015 Posted April 12, 2015 Some men will like your shape. Others won't. It's a simple as that. If you don't like your body, then you will have issues. I spent the better part of my life as at a certain size. Approaching 50 my metabolism changed & I have gained weight. Many people tell me I look better & viola I have a few curves now but I am really struggling with my body image. Your Q remains ridiculous because you are looking for a general answer to a specific Q. If one man likes curvy women but another other prefers skinny girls, one likes blonds, another redheads & a 3rd brunettes your Q assumes one of them must be wrong for his preferences. The world doesn't work like that. While many men would probably agree that the women in the Sports Illustrated SwimSuit issue or the Victoria's Secret catalogue are attractive in general being compared to airbrushed models isn't going to help your self esteem. 5

I'm not by any means, comparing myself to models, nor do I want to look like them, I want to look like ME. With that being said, you also stated men prefer all different types of women, then why is the media portraying women in the same body structure, after all, the media is owned and operated by men? In addition, why then, do men approach the smaller, boy figure types, but seldom approach the woman with curves, butt and ass?
Gaeta Posted April 12, 2015 Posted April 12, 2015 and just to add, I have been a size 6/8 before, and I had more men approach me then, as opposed to the amount of men who approach me now at size 12/14. I attract more men at a size 9-10 than I did at a size 4, why? I like my body as it is and I showcase it. That's called confidence. So men's attitude toward you changed because your own attitude toward your body changed. As simple as that. That being said. If you don't like your body make a change. Not for men, but for yourself. I personally would like to go back to size 8. Not to please any man around but because I got a closet full of clothes I can't button up lol. 7

In addition, why then, do men approach the smaller, boy figure types, but seldom approach the woman with curves, butt and ass? Because gay men control fashion. What gay men prefer? They prefer long lean bodies with no chest and no hips, like metro men look. What heterosexual men really like has nothing to do with size 4 or size 14. A man likes an hour glass shape, more precisely an increase of 70% between waist and hips. That you can get at any reasonable size. 2

In addition, why then, do men approach the smaller, boy figure types, but seldom approach the woman with curves, butt and ass? I am not a man so I can't tell you for sure why men do much. But the media does what sells ad space. Period. The media also shapes people's perceptions. Because the media says X is beautiful, people think they need to go after X. That doesn't mean every man is brainwashed to think that. The media is also changing. Look at Magazines like More. Look at the laws being passed in France to punish people for hiring underweight models.

Ain't that the truth! I probably gave away almost $5,000 retail in clothes this year that I will never fit into again. Sigh. 2

You'll find many sorts of body types in the media, from the kind I prefer (sometimes Jahan from Krewella looks like this) to J-Lo to Kim Kardashian to Beyonce to Nikki Minaj. That's a huge variety. You're only focusing on the ones you want to see. But... being interested in exactly the type of body you are mentioning, I think it has to do with biology and natural selection. Humans didn't evolve to sit still all day while consuming huge amounts of food. Our ancestors had to run, chase, haul food/water, pick it and go hungry a lot. I'm sure the preference for body types was ingrained from the thousands of other years we were looking at women, not what has happened recently since we started sitting around and not being hungry. Works the same if you reverse the sexes. What women generally find attractive is the guy that would have been the most useful and similar looking to what guys would look like if they worked for their food and were successful at it. Simply put, thinner people were the norm as we evolved,
autumnnight Posted April 12, 2015 Posted April 12, 2015 I think the typical man wants a woman to be healthy, fit, proportionally pleasing, and to make the most of what she has and be comfortable in her own skin. What exactly does that look like? Well yeah, for most men it will be more a size 8 than a size 20. Some want a size 2. great, they won't be dating ME, but there are size 2 women out there who they will love. Some men want a size 22. That won't be me either, but more power to 'em. I do think proportion matters. You can talk about thyroid, genetics, blah blah all you want, but a woman who looks like the stay-puff marshmallow man says one thing to most men - lazy and I don't like myself. However, I will go on record as saying when I see a guy who obviously spend almost as much time at the gym as he does at work saying he only values women who wear a size 2 and look like Jessica Alba, I do an inner eye roll and patiently wait for them to hit 50 so I can check out their hairline and belly lol I was a size 6 for a lot of my young adult life. I didn't date a lot. I am now larger than a size 6. I get flirted with, I get numbers, and I get friendliness everywhere. And it isn't the pervy kind. The big factor in my case seems to be that I love and enjoy myself and I am not worried about how all men think I look. I only worry about being attractive to the one man who wants me in his life. And OP, I agree with your screen name. Natural beauty is best. 1
regine_phalange Posted April 12, 2015 Posted April 12, 2015 I don't have great proportions genetically (not badmouthing my body, not at all, I wouldn't change it for the world, just being realistic) and I have cellulite. But underneath, my muscles are tight and at the end of the day my shape is a girly shape. The men I've been with admired what was right, and liked the fact that I looked feminine. And I've noticed that with my female friends too, their boyfriends always liked what was nice, either legs, butt, waist, boobs, neck. There are so many parts on a body to be liked, doesn't matter if one or two are not great. 1
