So, there's a girl in my school that is just gorgeous. Redheaded, green-eyed, cute voice, shy personality. We'll call her Elizabeth. Last month, at lunch break, her best friend told me that Elizabeth liked me, when she noticed, she blushed and ran to the bathroom until the end of the break. She passed all the month of march giving me flirty stares. What do I do now? I like her and she likes me back, she would be my first girlfriend, so I have no idea what to do. I'm in eighth grade, and I want to be her boyfriend.

Just strike up a conversation and laugh and joke around with her kinda like your friends, but don't be gross like you are with your friends. It all starts with "Hi!"

Do kids go steady anymore? Back when I was in eighth grade, or maybe it was seventh grade, when a boy liked me, he would ask me to go steady.

Not sure if that happens anymore though....

So excited to provide some advice on this one...

Okay first off OP - good taste. Red hair, green eyes, name like Elizabeth. Well done.

That being said, go watch The Fault in Our Stars. Basically you want to be like Augustus Waters. The part of the movie to pay attention to isn't all the stuff once they get to know each other - though that's some good stuff there. But look how he approaches her. Not with any pretension. Or bravado. He basically introduces himself to her and is genuine in his interest in her. And she knows it from the first moment they speak.

Make eye contact. Not a staring into the back of her skull contact but let her know that you are talking with her. Ask her what her favorite book is. Or movie. Or what music she likes to listen to. Ask follow up questions maybe telling her what interests you. But let her do a lot of the talking. At the end of the conversation let her know that you enjoyed it. e.g. "I really enjoyed chatting with you. I'd like to do it again". And see what happens.

Best of luck man!

Sit by her at lunch. Offer to study after school with her. Get your parents to agree to drive you to a movie. Then ask her to go with you. If there is an end of the year dance coming up, ask her to go with you.

Once you get her to go on a date with you, ask if it would be OK if you held hands in the school halls then do that.
