I'm unwilling to do the hot and cold thing and be "light and funny" during a date because that just isn't me. It's the polar opposite of me. If this means I won't ever be with a woman then so be it. Am I doomed?

No. All this does is doom you to be in relationships with women who value you for who you are, not your tactics. A cruel fate. ;-)

You don't have to be something you are not but you can't usually jump into the deepest most personal conversations upon 1st meeting.

 

 

Be yourself but perhaps not your most intense self at the very beginning.
