I'm a freshman 19 year old woman in my second semester of college now (dorming). I spent a month and a half spending a lot of time with a guy. We cuddled, made out, I stayed over in his bed 7 times and we texted daily. We told eachother we liked eachother. Some crazy drinking went down on my birthday in October (2014) and I ended up in the hospital for a week. Due to severe depression - which I continued to recover from even after release( meds take up to two months to work). Basically he dropped seeing me or even speaking to me except for one time after I came back to school. I continuously told him how crushed I was by him and how much I needed him (over text / called him). Not annormally though. He often ignored my messages and I cried a lot over everything. Even to this day we don't talk or even acknowledge eachother/ blocked eachother on social media. we were never official and he was always weird about that. Things before the incident showed that he was somewhat caring but how could he be such of an ******* now?? Does he just not give a ****

Perhaps he decided he didn't want to get involved with a girl who has emotional or mental problems to the point of being hospitalized which is his right. It is abnormal to repeatedly tell a guy you need him and he's crushed you when he has only known you for 6 weeks. You are expecting too much from him. I think your focus should be on your recovery right now. You don't need this guy who you only hung out with for a month and a half. Lean on your family and friends for support. Maybe this guy will look you up again in the future.

I think you drinking on top of depression and seeing how it got so bad you ended up hospitalized was more than he is ready to handle. If he were a bit older, I'd say he was mature enough to understand that you really can't have a relationship until you work on yourself on those issues. As it is, I imagine he was just scared off. And then you saying you needed him sounded desperate and needy, so that put the icing on the cake for him.

You need to cease looking for a man to make you happy and fix you (which won't work) and just maybe see a counselor for your depression and stop drinking or whatever it takes to get a solid foundation under you. You have to be whole. Another person can't make you whole. So do what it takes, and I hope you feel better soon.
