Toodaloo Posted April 9, 2015 Posted April 9, 2015 Dunno Met 2 guys over the weekend. No 1 seems to have cooled off which is fine. No 2 I had a second date lined up, he postponed until this weekend as he has a cold... Now he is saying that there may be rain on the day we had arranged to meet up. I have looked it up... its 1/2 hr light shower and 1mm expected... I don't know if I should respond with "Well you have a coat" or "I don't mind getting wet and you can read that any way you like"... Sod blinking text. I hate flipping text. Tell me to stop getting so jittery. It doesn't matter if he flakes does it? He seemed so keen...
Syberia Posted April 9, 2015 Posted April 9, 2015 "I don't mind getting wet ;)" Take the risk. His intentions will be clear by his response. 1

I wouldn't use the second text you had in mind with a guy you're going on a first date with. It's ok to flirt a little, but that's a little too suggestive in my book Does the date include an outside activity? If so, I'd respond with something like "instead of _____, let's go to _____. Suggest something indoors. Otherwise, I'd say "I wouldn't mind the rain, we can cozy up under an umbrella :)". 1
DivorcedDad123 Posted April 9, 2015 Posted April 9, 2015 "I don't mind getting wet" has ME wanting to go! 5
Redhead14 Posted April 9, 2015 Posted April 9, 2015 "I don't mind getting wet" has ME wanting to go! We will stay tuned for posts about whether sending that text caused him to move forward in dating her just for sex 2
Gary S Posted April 9, 2015 Posted April 9, 2015 (edited) If it's going to rain, I have backup plans for indoor stuff. That's the kind of guy you need. Even the post office delivers, rain or shine, so shouldn't your lover? I'd give guy two a week (A week from date one) before you write him off. In any case, let them be the pursuers, most guys will anyway. Why should a beautiful woman stick her neck out and face rejection if she does not have to? After a couple months, when he's in love with you, then you can start doing stuff for them. Edited April 9, 2015 by Gary S
Gaeta Posted April 9, 2015 Posted April 9, 2015 But!! don't you live in a country where it rains like 80% of the time? I vote send the flirty text and go back online to fish for guy # 3 3
Mrin Posted April 9, 2015 Posted April 9, 2015 But!! don't you live in a country where it rains like 80% of the time? I vote send the flirty text and go back online to fish for guy # 3 Totally agree!
gaius Posted April 9, 2015 Posted April 9, 2015 Mmm so hot when you think about cancelling our date over a milimeter of rain.
fitnessfan365 Posted April 9, 2015 Posted April 9, 2015 (edited) "I don't mind getting wet" has ME wanting to go!:laugh: Awesome. I'd have the same attitude and make a playful innuendo if a woman gave me an opening like that. "I don't mind getting wet and you can read that any way you like"... Haha.. A woman with that type of confidence and word play is F'ing HOT. But only say that if it's a guy you're ready to sleep with. Something that blatant as just a joke, might come off as mixed signals. Then again, if you are ready and he doesn't pick up on your interest off something like that, he wouldn't be able to get the job done anyways. Edited April 9, 2015 by fitnessfan365
Author Toodaloo Posted April 9, 2015 Author Posted April 9, 2015 I ended up going with "Are you saying you don't want me to get you out of those wet clothes? Sorry couldn't resist. If you don't want to go, don't worry I will not take offence Fab day this end. Problems arose and were dealt with. All in all a proactive day. Hope yours went well too." Sent at just gone 6. Its now nearly 8. Mind you he never has been quick to respond to texts... nor am I depending on where I am and what I am doing as I have managed to turn the bleep noise off when they come through and have no idea how to turn it back on and I am out of signal most of the time... I have fudged it haven't I... Oh well. I have a load of volunteering work coming up anyway so will be really busy and I am really not very well with this blinking cold that he gave me! Sharing is caring and all that... I also have a sick chicken that is taking up quite a bit of time at the moment. Aaaand worry over such a piddling amount of rain when the rest of the day is going to be sunshine interspersed with a smattering of cloud. Sod it. I am a middle aged country bumpkin and at the end of the day I have been this way all my life so whats the point in changing now?
Author Toodaloo Posted April 9, 2015 Author Posted April 9, 2015 We will stay tuned for posts about whether sending that text caused him to move forward in dating her just for sex At this point in time I don't think I would mind... I don't have a penis of my own so it might be nice to play with someone elses... you know a real one not just plastic... 5
GemmaUK Posted April 9, 2015 Posted April 9, 2015 I live in a country where you cannot plan anything without a potential to get rained on!!! It wouldn't stop me from an outdoor date unless it was a bouncy castle - they are lethal when wet! I'd be curious to know if he thought you didn't want to get a bit rained on or whether he had an issue with it. 2

I was like, hmmmm, I don't think Tood's would exactly mind a whirlwind physical, furniture breaking, neighbor bothering Spring romance right now. 2

My windshield wipers are falling apart and I barely noticed this year. Of course, the moment a few drops fall, everyone on the road acts like they don't know what they're doing and they're about to crash!

Would be nice but looks like you guys are stuck with me... sorry about that... looks like the neighbours will not need to turn their hearing aids off for a while. Still loves y'all though! 1

I don't have a penis of my own so it might be nice to play with someone elses... you know a real one not just plastic... OMG.....lol Idk....I think it's flaky of him to even bring up the fact that it might rain. I mean, so WHAT? Who cares?! In my opinion, if a guy is really into a girl and wants to hang out with her, he would do so even if there was a hail storm, a cyclone or a typhoon in the weather forecast! It seems like he's trying to find an excuse to bail... . 4
GemmaUK Posted April 9, 2015 Posted April 9, 2015 I have done that! The bungie runs are hillarious in the rain!!! Um..we kinda got a broken ankle out of it! Not mine thankfully! It was a work do a few years ago and the sales director poured one pint - just one pint of water on the bouncy castle...oh whoops and was he in trouble! Lol! I am all for it bit of wet t-shirt - I couldn't live in the UK if I wasn't! Ha! 2

I am all for it bit of wet t-shirt - I couldn't live in the UK if I wasn't! Ha! We had one of those bungie run things in the garden for a party we just carried on when the rain started. So funny was like trying to run on a water slide. That was a really great party... was still going at 6am when we were all supposed to be going to work! Thankfully a few of our bosses were also there lol

Author Toodaloo Posted April 10, 2015 Author Posted April 10, 2015 - Oh my!............um................I got nothin' I know... perhaps I should keep these thoughts to myself... I do have this effect on people. They tend to visit or phone when they are feeling glum and I normally end up making them laugh with the stuff I blurt out... I am as subtle as a brick through a window... of a china shop... who's customers happen to be a herd of rampaging bulls. Update. He responded this morning... "Morning, hope you are enjoying this glorious morning sunshine! So glad its Friday, feels like it has been a long week even if it hasn't. Hope you have a great day!" I don't think he is all that into me. Either that or is a bit scared of me. Oh well. What was Gaeta saying about No 3?? 3
Author Toodaloo Posted April 10, 2015 Author Posted April 10, 2015 I love it Toodaloo, I was just being silly Its OK - I am used to leaving people speechless... So what do I do now? Leave it? Answer him? I am stuck... I like this guy but I am stuck...
