we hear the rules about online dating and how we should try meet with them quickly and not have a pen pal.

what if you added someone on social media through mutual friends etc and started talking. you know you like the person and find them attractive?

do the rules still apply? can you send a few messages back and forth and ask for a meet up?

Sure, just like online dating, it's a blind date.

But its not online dating so you cant be annoyed if they dont meet up so quickly. Online dating implies she is looking to date.

Social media she could just want to be friends even though you like her so you cant be mad if she just messages you all the time rather than meet up

I suggest you put the "rules" where they belong, in the circular file. Whether you meet online or not, sticking to some arbitrary "rules" to conduct a human interpersonal relationship is a silly idea.

I don't understand what you're talking about when you say you can or can't be mad. Anyone can be mad at anything if they like. There is no law about when you can or can't be angry at someone.

Just one example of a ridiculous "rule" that should be binned.
