I'm sure if a guy was seriously dating someone, he would delete his OLD profile entirely, right?

No. Probably only once the exclusivity talk happens.

So, not logging in for awhile means he's occupied with someone else at the moment?

Can't speak for guys. If I have not logged into my accounts for weeks, it means I have met someone I am interested in real life, not online.

Him not logging in to his OLD profile could be for a myriad of reasons! He could have the flu, he could be currently dating someone that he's into, he could've not paid his Comcast bill and have no internet, etc., etc.

Don't EVER assume ANYTHING with regard to that. And don't assume that a guy whose dating someone seriously would necessarily delete their OLD profile. They may or may not, depending on their intentions and goals regarding using OLD as their main dating platform. Why don't you just ask the guy in question DIRECTLY as to why he hasn't logged in to the OLD site he's using? Is he someone you were interested in and have since stopped messaging with? Is he someone you used to date? Is he someone that you were messaging with but ended up ghosting or nexting you?

The law of averages says it is more likely he just got tired of the OLD treadmill.

Chit Chat

Meet for coffee

No spark at all

Repeat.

Or

Chit chat

Coffee date

Dinner/movie/creative date

no spark/no sex

rinse repeat

For guys it means we have at least one prospect that we're pursuing in real life, and we've obtained their Number so we have no use for the OLD platform.

If they've been offline a couple weeks, they either gave up, or they're seeing someone.

I hadn't logged into my account in about a month. I just wasn't feeling like dealing with more OLD. I did finally put it inactive the other day, and none of that is due to me seriously dating anyone.

Sometimes people just get burned out with how annoying/****ty OLD is.

- Right, it just means he's busy - with any of 136,000 things.

This is kinda why I'm glad the guy I was dating for 3 months that I met through Tinder unmatched me 3 weeks after we broke up. I only go on there to check and see if he goes on. :p It hurt at first because I felt like he cut me out of his life even though we stopped talking on there after the 2nd date. But at the end the day, I think it was for the best because knowing me if he keeps going on it will drive me crazy thinking he's looking and if he stops I'll assume he's seeing someone and it will then drive me crazy also. We still text so I guess he didn't really cut me out of his life? I dunno.

If this guy you're talking about is someone you're dating, maybe you should just ask him.

OP is this an ex you have been stalking (ahem, following) on line, and you're wondering, since he hasn't logged on, if that means he met someone and is dating her exclusively?

Thus, squashing YOUR dreams of getting back together with him?

Come on, spill the beans...we're here to listen, support and advise.

I know that on Match, pages stay up even after a person is no longer using the site. So on profiles that say "Active in Over Three Weeks" it's most likely a deactivated profile.

Maybe, but not necessarily. He could be on holiday, away for work, moving house, in hospital. Or just bored with the whole OLD thing.

It could be a million different things.

Maybe it's time you stop reading into things a bit too much?

I don't think that can be "assumed". (I am a woman). I have an OLD account and I grew tired of the process and so I didn't go there for a long time. In the meantime, I did meet someone and am in a relationship. I've never bothered to take the profile down nor have I visited it. It's just there.

Maybe he was in an auto accident.

Maybe he got arrested.

Maybe he got abducted by aliens.

My profile is still on match, essentially unchanged from when I created it 20 years ago. And I married a woman I met on match 15 years ago. So, no, not everyone deletes their OLD profile regardless of circumstances.

For me it would be. I treated OLD like a switch. If I was actively looking for more women to date, I used it. If I was casually multidating some women, I didn't use it but left the profile up. I only ever pulled it down when I was taking a sabbatical from dating or when I met my soulmate/GF. Here's to hoping it never goes back up!

Ive hidden my profiles off POF and tinder at the minute as I'm in contact with ones that I see potential with. It got to the point that there was too much going on with them and more distractions and a possibility of lookign for someone better.

If I become exclusive with any of them then I'll delete my profiles, if none of them come to anything then I'll reactivate.
