Author crushinghard Posted October 29, 2019 Author Posted October 29, 2019 This would be so embarrassing for your daughter unless she is under 6 years of age. She wasn't embarrassed at all. As I stated above, we always put our kids' needs first so they thought we were just friends until we had been dating at least a year (and she was no longer at his school anymore). Geez Louise, there's some real cynics in here for a community dedicated to love. LOL. 1
d0nnivain Posted October 29, 2019 Posted October 29, 2019 As I stated above, we always put our kids' needs first so they thought we were just friends until we had been dating at least a year (and she was no longer at his school anymore). There we go . . . . part of the common sense aspect I was hoping to see. While your daughter was there this was under wraps. I was just hoping she didn't get accused of being the teacher's pet based on his relationship with her mother. Carry on. .
CloudyHead Posted October 30, 2019 Posted October 30, 2019 Thanks for the update! I'm glad it worked out and everyone is happy. You never know where life will take you . . . . 2
lurker74 Posted October 30, 2019 Posted October 30, 2019 Haha! I didn't look at any of the dates until I saw your update post. I honestly don't the ethical issue with dating a single subject teacher of your kid. That's not to say it couldn't have been problematic, especially if things blow up, but single parents dating have to navigate all kinds of mine fields in that arena. If it was your child's third grade, all day teacher, I think that is more problematic, but a single, once a week teacher? As long as the participants are wise and ground rules set up, I am surprised that people had an issue. And OP, congratulations on proving the cynics wrong. 1
stillafool Posted October 30, 2019 Posted October 30, 2019 (edited) Good for you OP! Edited October 30, 2019 by stillafool
The Outlaw Posted October 30, 2019 Posted October 30, 2019 I'm surprised I didn't see this thread years ago, but in any case, congrats. I'm glad it worked out for you.
notthatintome Posted November 1, 2019 Posted November 1, 2019 I would say go for it and that you have nothing to lose. Also be aware some teachers do not like to date parents for whatever reasons therefore don't take it too hard if he says no. Good luck!
