calvincline47 Posted April 25, 2015 Posted April 25, 2015 I would be very wary of a guy who desperately wanted to buy me jewellery on the second date. What's he trying to buy? Your love? Continued sex? It's way too much too soon. I feel uncomfortable being bought stuff so early on or anything extravagant during a relationship. So buying a girl something is too much too soon on a second date, but putting out so easily isn't?

TB Rhine Posted April 25, 2015 Posted April 25, 2015 I love all the "Jewelry? Bah, he's a LOSER!" posts in this thread. She's 50, folks. 50. She's still supposed to be holding out for the charming, aloof man? The guy who acts like he could take it or leave it? At this stage all that matters is whether the two of you enjoy each other's company. It's not like you're evaluating him as a provider, a potential father to your kids, etc. -- you're way past all that box-checking and game-playing now. Just have fun. 1

I think it's natural if you have sex right away for the man to get claustrophobic. It's too intimate too fast, but if you give him space, and act like the time lapses are no big deal, these ripples might get smoothed. You might still have gone out to socialize with him, but tried taking it more slow. But since you told him off, that pretty much ends it.

Agreed, the most important thing is that they enjoy each others company. I definitely don't think people should play games and act aloof, but buying gifts like that so early smacks of .. i dunno .. desperation, or something. And I don't think age has much to do with it - I'm a similar age. 1
Author Gaeta Posted April 25, 2015 Author Posted April 25, 2015 I have another 6 months to go before hitting the big 50 so lets continue using 49 lol Yes I am all for enjoying myself and be sexual when I wish it but I am still a human being and wish to be treated with a minimum of consideration. If he had taken the time to keep in touch a couple of times things would have unfold differently yesterday.
