That's a weird set of definitions. I'm a mix of Alpha/Sigma/Omega.

 

I'm a leader, but not natural. A learned leader.

I don't listen to what anyone tells me I should do, except to consider opinions.

People definitely trust my leadership and follow me to great lengths.

I know how to read people in a fraction of a second, but don't care about them. lol

Yeah, there are a lot of "macho" type of guys in your neck of the woods. Bullies, overly aggressive, lording it over people,.

 

As I said, those are NOT alpha males. They are *alpha male wannabees* -- they don't know the first thing about being a true alpha. They act all macho..which isn't the same thing at all.

My boyfriend is a true alpha..NOT macho, and I have the utmost respect for him, and even though I am quite opinionated myself, I usually defer to him on most things.

So much of what is written in this thread is disturbing because it suggests powerlessness and a certain predetermined lot in life. Such a shame as that is not at all true.

 

When life is not bringing you what you want, it is time to look inward not outward. It is time to put all of your energy on giving yourself what you wish others were giving you. Everything we want in life resides inside us when we create such a strong, independent, interesting, confident GENUINE self that we attract friendship and love and success without even trying. It is the moment that you are so content with yourself and truly not even looking for love that love walks right up and bites you. Alpha males get whatever they want, but that's not enough for them. Alpha males constantly denigrate anyone who they deem is a beta male.

 

That isn't true actually. Just because a guy is a confident Alpha male and goes after what he wants, it doesn't mean he automatically gets it. What makes him Alpha is that he's completely indifferent to rejection. When it comes to women, he's good having one in his life, and he's just as good not having one. Not only is he confident that there will always be other women to meet, but he has goals and a purpose in life that drives him. He doesn't get hung up on a single woman or become bitter about the success that others have. He simply lives his life and goes after what he wants.

 

The reason why you're being labeled a "beta male" is because you're letting others diminish you instead of being confident in yourself and emotionally centered. Instead of not giving a crap about the world around you and focusing on your purpose and goals, you're making excuses. That's ultimately what "beta" behavior is and why "nice guys" are beta. They'd rather complain and make excuses than truly going after what they want.
