1. Message from someone with "No Photo"

2. Message from a spambot

I hate when I get these messages on a site that I am paying for because it makes me think the site is fraudulent. I hate being notified I have a message only to find out the person has no photo or it;s a spam bot. I never ever go through this on OKC or POF which is why I have decided just to deal with FREE SITES for the remainder of the year. So sick of these rip off dating sites trying to send fake messages.

I used to be annoyed by FLIRT messages but atleast it's showing a real person

1. Never minded messages with no pictures. In fact, one of my most successful international dating experiences occurred from a ad/profile which had no picture. Some people don't like putting their image out there and accept the results, along with a myriad of other reasons.

2. Spam bots, while annoying, were no different than other spam.

3. If I had to pick a more annoying option, it would be the obvious messages from 'models' which seemed to arrive a few weeks before my subscription was scheduled to expire.

well that means the person should be on a telephone dating site if they don't want their image out there

Or a newspaper personal's ad. IMO, this may be one difference between my generation and the younger ones, in that we did things more in person because, well, virtual didn't exist and photographs were generally expensive and anything but instant.

Here's a scanned photo (yup, back then digital cameras were new and very expensive, so not really an option) of the person I ended up dating for awhile after responding to an ad with no photo.

More recently, after my exW and I split up, I dated a couple of local ladies and one of those, yup, didn't have a photo but I liked her profile enough, mainly her writing style and how she shared aspects of herself, to contact her. She wasn't some ogre, rather a normal lady with an adult son and a desire for privacy.

Since the vast majority of profiles have pictures, those without are easy to either option out of or ignore. To me, that doesn't rise to worst level but YMMV.

I could never chat with anyone without a picture because it could be anyone

a teenager

a man

a senior citizen

a transsexual

Even with pictures in the profiles, all of that could be possible.

I recall the m>f trans-sexual I met through our local singles site back when internet dating was new. Going by her pictures, she was pretty hot. Nice lady too. Pre-op trans-sexuals were just a bit beyond my scope.

If one really wants to feed suspicion and skepticism, merely dabble in international dating. If a scheme is possible, it's been thought of and perfected.
