Anthonyl Posted April 2, 2015 Posted April 2, 2015 So it has been 1.5 months since my ex and I broke up. I texted him yesterday b/c he had a death in the family and I told him "Hey. I know we haven't spoken in a while but I just want to send my condolences. I am sorry for your loss. Don't if you need anything." He texted back hours later saying "Thank you. It really means a lot to me. I am sorry for the delay - I just needed a day without my phone." I said "You're welcome. I understand. I did the same thing when my grandmother passed away. Anyways, like I said if you need anything, I am here." He said "Thank you." I said "You're welcome" It was civilized. I don't know if it was appropriate to contact him. He and I had initially broken up in early February. It was a mutual break up. He still follows me on social media but I don't follow him on anything anymore. He initially said that he wanted to be friends but he's made zero effort to do so. I still like him.....a lot.
jen1447 Posted April 3, 2015 Posted April 3, 2015 Nothing at all wrong with contacting him with condolences if you both can handle contact. But if you still like him.....a lot, it sounds like there's more going on and you need to figure out what before you jump back on that rollercoaster.
