Hey everyone,

So I am 5 months single out of a long term relationship. I am 27 years old. Recently began talking to girls in my area casually. A week back, I ran into a beautiful woman late at night at a bar and we flirted and had great physical chemistry. I asked for her number and got it, told her i'd call her. The only real reason I haven't called her is because when we were talking I just got the instant impression her and I were very different, let's just say probably incompatible. She seemed very outgoing, adventurous, wild, etc. She just met me and wanted to go somewhere like 2 hours away kind of woman. That also made me question her character…I mean we just met and she wants me to go somewhere with her? I'm much more timid and cautious. In fact I was dragged to the bar by my friend and wanted to leave until I saw her.

I find her attractive but she had a lot of tattoos/piercings and had a personality that I just feel really isn't my type. Then again, I hate to say never judge a book by its cover. I'm just so new to the dating scene again is this the kind of woman I want to get my feet wet with? Also, I don't really believe in casual sex/friends with benefits but I have the feeling this girl and I would share nothing but the physical and it would turn into that, which I want to avoid. I wonder why I even asked for her number, I guess it was just a heat of the moment thing. Plus I got practice.

Do I go for it? Call her? It's been over a week, my time is running out.

Yes, go for it. What's the worst that can happen? If it doesn't work out then, like you say, you got some practice. Chances are the first date you go on after a breakup won't work out anyway so might as well get it over with. You're free and single, just relax enjoy it for what it is. If it's nothing then you've lost nothing except a couple of hours of your life - which presumably will at least have been a bit of fun.
