No_Go Posted April 2, 2015 Posted April 2, 2015 Um see what I wrote above - it is NOT easy to leave after you have a joint lease. Btw I did learned a lot about my ex after we moved in together but i lost 7-8 grand for the "lesson" - is something like this worth it? P.S. Plus this woman's debt issues suggest that she's not financially responsible.... Making it even more risky... Why is that crazy? No it's not. You learn so much about a person once you move in with them. catch the bad and good early on. You can leave , you're not married. 1
katiegrl Posted April 2, 2015 Posted April 2, 2015 (edited) We were talking about debt tonight, and she mentioned off hand that she has about $20,000 in credit card debt. She's working two jobs (60+ hours a week), and making minimum payments of about $450/month (almost as much as her rent) to pay it off, but I'm a bit freaked out about that.. Apologies for the hijack....but where do you guys live that her rent is ONLY $450 per month?! Wow, I need to move there! Ours is TRIPLE that for a one bedroom! Granted it's a very large one bedroom, but still...wow. Edited April 2, 2015 by katiegrl 1

He said two months but given he created a thread one month ago about how he was juggling two different women (he eventually chose her), it's more like a few weeks. 2

DO NOT MOVE IN WITH THIS GIRL. Massive red flag right there. This is not "responsible" debt such as mortgage, student loans or even a loan for a car etc... This is completely irresponsible spending of money she simply does not have. If she is only making the minimum payments its going to take years to clear...
Versacehottie Posted April 2, 2015 Posted April 2, 2015 Um... WHAT? And the fact that you said that the minimum payments are as much as her rent, suggests to me that she lives in an area where she SHOULDN'T be racking up $20,000 in credit card debt. But if she doesn't understand that making minimum payments are getting her nowhere, then you two are going to have a lot of fights about finances in the future. diezel makes valid points. Specifically those above.
