Ending of Short term relationship hurt so more than expected.

My ex recently broke up with me after 2 months. Claimed she loved me and whatnot. Anyways the piercing pain in the chest, longing for her, and heartache are very much there. The morning wake up hoping for that text and all that other fun stuff. This was my first relationship in 2 years from when my ex of 5 years left me. I guess opened old wounds unfortunately. Just sucks. Get hurt 2 years ago to just feel it again.....

I feel you. Had something similar happen in my last breakup. We dated only 3 months.

 

What I realized after much introspection is a lot of times it's hardest when people break up after a few short months, because you haven't really gotten to see the "bad" side of them for one, so they seem so great in your head. Makes the loss feel more severe. Very annoying.

 

You're also right it probably brought back some old wounds, but rest assured, you will heal stronger than you have been before. This pain is good.

how long had she been out of a relationship? is it possible that you were her rebound??? I've heard that many rebounds don't last long

From what she told me last April, but I know she was doing a FWB relationship a month prior. Which was a turn off to me. I believe sex is a benefit for a relationship. Regardless. That high from the companionship, and honeymoon phase is still there and just really really sucks.
