fitnessfan365 Posted March 25, 2015 Posted March 25, 2015 (edited) So tonight was date three. Planned for us to have a sunset picnic. Picked her up at her place, had the food ready to go, and drove to the spot. As I am setting up the beach towels and blanket, she says "I have something for you". Opens her purse and pulls out a single bar of Lindt 85% dark chocolate. On my OkCupid profile, I have that as one of the six things I can't live without. I know for a fact that she hasn't visited my profile anytime soon since the first time she did because she'd show up on the top of my viewed list. So this was something she locked in her memory over a month ago. That type of genuine thoughtfulness is so rare these days. Now even though it was a simple $2 bar of chocolate, it rocked me through to my core and really touched me. Edited March 25, 2015 by fitnessfan365 8
haribogumsnickers Posted March 25, 2015 Posted March 25, 2015 Did you check the expiration date? Yeah, she's a keeper for remembering that sugar sweetness from a month ago. Since that touched you did you touch her back with your words or lips? 1

Since that touched you did you touch her back with your words or lips? Haha.. Laughed out loud at the expiration date comment. It's funny because 85% dark chocolate is actually on the bitter side and low in sugar. Healthy people love it for the anti-oxidants and how surprisingly good it is for you. But yes, plenty of touching in both categories. I'm very honest and open with her so she likes my communication skills. But also appreciates my physical presence just as much.

Lindt is top shelf chocolate and ive seen 90% cacao somewhere haha.

Yet then you follow up by re-confirming that it's bitter like I claimed it was sweet. Did I miss something? Edited March 25, 2015 by fitnessfan365
haribogumsnickers Posted March 25, 2015 Posted March 25, 2015 Failure on my part not yours. Sorry for the confusion.

Easy to do when your eyes are glazing over and you are thinking about chocolate... Also chocolate doesn't go bad for years after the sell by date. Its one of those food stuffs like honey that just last for ages in the right conditions... So I am pretty sure you are safe even if you didn't bother checking!
Diezel Posted March 25, 2015 Posted March 25, 2015 Maybe she has the type of OKC profile that goes "invisible" after visiting your profile once. I know, I know, I rain on people's parades.

She sounds very special... 3
Gaeta Posted March 25, 2015 Posted March 25, 2015 aaawww! that is so sweet of her. What I fine even sweeter is you being able to fully appreciate the gesture ! 2

She mentioned in the past that she used OkCupid because it was a free site.

She clearly wanted to do something just for you. 1

So based on what I know about her personality so far, that's why I'd guess it was from memory. When I got her number after one email, she gave a step by step breakdown on her work schedule, when she's home/best time to call, etc.. Cutest thing ever. This made an impression instantly because so many women just throw out their number and you end up playing voice mail phone tag. So her level of thoughtfulness was apparent even back then. Either you pay or you know the right people...I have never paid for OKC, but can turn whether or not people can see me on or off (but I'm buddies with OKC's founder - now CEO of Match.com - we went to Business School together - I doubt that's the situation she's in). She sounds thoughtful and awesome - women that remember details like that always get serious bonus points (and I think women give similar serious bonus points to guys that remember little details as well)...it's a sign that she cares, pays attention to you, and a lot more...have fun with it!
tangerinetrees Posted March 25, 2015 Posted March 25, 2015 That is so thoughtful! How awesome that she remembered and how great that you were able to express gratitude in all the right ways. In my experience, so many people, men and women alike really struggle with expressing gratitude.

Even though it was the simplest gesture, it really did blow me away and I was able to show my appreciation in multiple ways. I agree that some people tend to brush things off or take things for granted. Hell, some guys may even get scared at something like and thing she is the type of woman that comes on too strong, too fast. But I saw it for what it was, and was blown away by it. 1
BlackOpsZombieGirl Posted March 25, 2015 Posted March 25, 2015 Awww! That was a sweet and thoughtful thing for her to do! I also love doing things like that for my guy, seeing his face light up and just knowing that I was able to make him smile and feel some happiness in that moment! Um......do you hear that, FF???? ....are those wedding bells I hear in the distance?! .

Um......do you hear that, FF???? ....are those wedding bells I hear in the distance?! . Haha.. A little early to be going there. But she's definitely one of a kind. On one hand, I am a realist and don't like to get too invested after a handful of dates. But on the other, something about her just feels right. So that's why I'm just enjoying myself and letting things happen as they may. 1
