coffeeloverx Posted March 20, 2015 Posted March 20, 2015 So I need some advice, I broke up with my ex about 4 or so years ago now (3?) I've been slowly dipping my toes back into the dating pool and have 'dated' a few guys I've met through my friends or online, I talked to this one guy for a little bit online about a year or so ago, however we stopped messaging due to him deleting his profile and me just not using mine that much. Anywho, I've using mine a bit more recently just for kicks and giggles and the same guy popped up on my little home page again, so I looked at his profile and I really liked what I read. I was considering messaging him again and seeing where that goes. Is this weird or just fine? I think I'm over thinking it but again, I'm not exactly any sort of dating expert.
Gary S Posted March 20, 2015 Posted March 20, 2015 If it did not go anywhere then, what are the chances this time?
planb1973 Posted March 20, 2015 Posted March 20, 2015 Its not weird. I just had a date with a woman I had messaged almost 2 years ago. I say go for it you really have nothing to lose.
katiegrl Posted March 20, 2015 Posted March 20, 2015 If it did not go anywhere then, what are the chances this time? Disagree. Timing may be better now ...
Michelle ma Belle Posted March 20, 2015 Posted March 20, 2015 Look at it this way...what have you to lose?
Gary S Posted March 20, 2015 Posted March 20, 2015 Look at it this way...what have you to lose? - People's worst fear - rejection.
Michelle ma Belle Posted March 20, 2015 Posted March 20, 2015 - People's worst fear - rejection. Sure but online rejection is often less painful than face-to-face rejection.
fluidian Posted March 20, 2015 Posted March 20, 2015 Sure - message him. Timing may not have been right before. If you never met him (just messaged), it's perfectly fine - totally different than if you went out a few times and didn't have chemistry. Worst case you spend a few minutes typing a message and don't hear from him...not a big deal. The key to this is don't get overly invested in an online profile - or even someone that you've only been seeing for a month or two.
Gary S Posted March 20, 2015 Posted March 20, 2015 Sure but online rejection is often less painful than face-to-face rejection. - True, it is a "softer" rejection. 1
