Gemini02 Posted April 11, 2005 Posted April 11, 2005 I'm a little frusterated and upset, and tired of the way things are going. Let me explain. My boyfriend and I have been going out for two years- I'm 20 and he's 23. Neither of us have great paying jobs, or a car, nor do we live together. We see each other about twice a week- we usually spend a night over at each other's place. (I live at home, he on his own with a roomate). The thing is, whenever we get together (especially at my house it seems) we never DO anything. We'll lie in bed and doze. I always joke that it's like we're an old married couple already... But it's not funny anymore. Because we don't have money or an easy way of transportation (public transit can get costly) it seems like we never anything- I don't want our relationship to hang on the fact that we don't have cash or a car, but it seems like it is! I love him, and I understand he can't have those things at the moment... I guess I'm just wondering what kind of things we can do that don't cost a lot and are not boring (you can only go on so many walks ) Also, IF we do do something, I ALWAYS have to plan it. For once I'd just like to not be in control of the situation and have him plan and/or suprise me! HELP!! Any suggestions???

GirlDown Posted April 11, 2005 Posted April 11, 2005 maybe public transportation "gets expensive', but surely you could do it once in a while. you don't have to do it every day.
Pendawn Posted April 11, 2005 Posted April 11, 2005 Watch movies, TV or DVDs/Videos of stand up comedians. Listen to music. SING to music. DANCE to music! Play games. Give each other massages.
Sckott Posted April 11, 2005 Posted April 11, 2005 Exactly. If both of you are wondering what the heck to do, JUST TRY. Anything. Once.
faux Posted April 12, 2005 Posted April 12, 2005 The weather is getting nicer out. Go for walks together, during the day or at night. If it gets very warm out, like it was in my area yesterday, go walk to get some ice cream if you can. Pizza places are usually scattered about everywhere, and a slice of pizza does not cost much. It might be fun to walk and chat to a pizza place, sit down for a quick slice, and then just walk around and talk. Do you have any parks in your area? I love walking with my girlfriend, especially when we wind up in a park on a beautiful day; we can sit for hours and talk. DVDs are not that expensive to rent. You could try to find some time to play board games, chess or checkers usually go over well with everyone. Simple little things like baking brownies (Brownie mix is, what, two dollars or less?), throwing a frisbee, or having tickle fights are fun. Also, look for places that offer student discounts with student ID cards.
