RedButton Posted March 17, 2015 Posted March 17, 2015 So there's this girl at a store I visit frequently who seems rather shy, but opens up a lot when I chat to her beyond the usual niceties. I feel like there might be some interest there, but not sure on the best way to go about things since she's at work. I was thinking to make things easier, if I offered her my number rather than asking for hers or outright asking if she wants to go out? I would do it when the store is empty if possible regardless (usually common when I visit anyway). Anyone have experience of a guy giving a number instead of asking for one? Will it send the wrong message?

d0nnivain Posted March 17, 2015 Posted March 17, 2015 If she is that shy, she won't call you. So you are going to have to catch her on break to ask. If the place isn't that busy you can chat her up then ask when her day off is. At that point, you exchange #s.

The store is generally pretty quiet when I visit, so I'll probably just straight up ask her out, or at least for her number. Is it possible to ask her out 'too early'? I saw some advice articles saying you should just ask for a number before asking out, but those articles are usually full of **** or 'pick up artist' bull****.
Author RedButton Posted March 22, 2015 Author Posted March 22, 2015 So I have an update: went to the store today usual time and was chatting to the girl, things were going really well and I was all ready to ask her out but before I could a whole group of people came in! Wouldn't be so bad if it was customers, but another employee came who was working behind the counter too. I was polite and with a smile told her to have a great weekend and see you later, but I was gutted I didn't get a chance to ask her out. She seems to be opening up a lot to me recently and was telling me all about her vacation and the like. Oh well, I hope to try again next weekend. Should I have a backup plan in case something similar happens, or just wait for the right time?
