atedeschi Posted March 16, 2015 Posted March 16, 2015 I will try to be brief. Me and my gf met in high school, yes I know not a good way to start this but I do still like her,we dated for almost 3 years, then we broke up 6 months ago and she almost immediately started dating a new guy. They were on and off for 3 months then broke up before winter break then became official about a month ago. Throughout this time she contacted me on her own several times and seemed like she still liked me. So this past week she and I hung out a few times and I still got a bit of the vibe she liked me, but then I got told from her that she is completely over me and is happy with her new bf, and that she is okay with us not talking anymore. So I decided to cut off contact and go NC. Honestly as of now I do still care and want to try again. But I have decided walking away for a while is the best choice. But really is there any hope? Any spark left? If this new guy is a rebound then is there really no feelings left for me?

If it has been 6 months, I suspect she has indeed moved on and was only really keeping you on a string just in case things with this new guy failed, and she also enjoyed having her ego stroked every once in a while. I'd say there is no hope, or at least you should ACT like there's no hope, and move on.
