smg15 Posted March 12, 2015 Posted March 12, 2015 When I say success I mean gettting messages and meeting face to face. I seem to get the most replies on this site but get none on OKC. Always been a mystery.
Auspecial Posted March 12, 2015 Posted March 12, 2015 I think POF blows. Its free and no one on there is serious about meeting anyone. 1
Gary S Posted March 12, 2015 Posted March 12, 2015 It's a numbers game to some extent, especially for men, and POF has the numbers. But I prefer Match, it's a big site too. I never had a whole lot of luck on OKStupid, I think I only met one lady from that site.
Price2Play Posted March 12, 2015 Posted March 12, 2015 POF is the WALMART of online dating, I haven't dit in many many years and probably never will again. 2

Gary S Posted March 12, 2015 Posted March 12, 2015 POF has been called the ghetto of online dating, lol. But I have met some nice ladies there in the past. Every town has it's good peeps and bad peeps, just like every dating site. That said, Match has higher quality people overall.

OLD gets OLD really fast, I only use it in the winter months if I'm looking. Spring, summer time there's no need for it. Patio's fill up and IRL approaches are the better option. Pratice, pratice, pratice. 1

Gary S Posted March 12, 2015 Posted March 12, 2015 Match does not cost that much... you can get a coupon code on the net and get 3 months for around $36... that's $12.00 per month. If ya can't afford that, ya can't afford dating. 2
fitnessfan365 Posted March 12, 2015 Posted March 12, 2015 I think POF blows. Its free and no one on there is serious about meeting anyone. Haha, I agree. POF is my least favorite site to use. It's funny though. A woman that lived 150 miles away wrote me on there. Really attractive, into fitness, and funny profile. So I write saying - Friendly, fitness, and funny - three other "F" words I can get behind. Too bad you live so far away. She writes back actively trying to convince me that the distance isn't far, qualifying herself, etc.. This is a woman that's a solid 8 who could have her pick of guys in her area. I'll never get why people would actually want to date someone that far 1

KatZee Posted March 12, 2015 Posted March 12, 2015 Since your definition of "successful" is that you get messages on POF and not OKC, then yes. I totally get what you mean. On POF I get messages regularly, and I've had countless dates from it. OKC? Nothing. I get profile views and then that's it. I've never had a conversation with anyone from OKC, I've never met anyone off OKC. As far as it being "successful" in that I've had relationships, and met quality people? No. POF is still garbage like all the rest of the dating sites out there. 2

Warm weather is perfect for outdoor events, activities, plus I can wear my sundress and have the guys look my way.

EgoJoe Posted March 12, 2015 Posted March 12, 2015 Decent women sign up on PoF and do not last long. Qualify your leads and fish in the best pond. My current girlfriend is an architect and she signed up for several dating sites just to meet a few guys. I locked her down nearly on accident but the reality is decent women will never last long on a dating website. Picky, self-conscious, insecure, immature and "magical feeling" women do because they are searching for something that isn't there. Think late stage GIGSers finally realizing they gave up A great relationship and are now desperate to find it elsewhere to validate that decision.
Starship Posted March 12, 2015 Posted March 12, 2015 I met my guy on Match. As for cost...if a person can't afford the price of a tank of gas, they shouldn't be dating. Match was about $25. Re OLD sites. A lot of the pluses and cons are regional. Match is the big one here...Eharmony not so much. OK Cupid not really a player in the game. An aside...the rise of Meet Ups has had a huge influence on new relationships. There are a couple of new couples in our hiking group and in our dance group. OLD is still popular but getting together via Meet Ups is the trend....oddly not the single groups but the activity centered groups.
mstie Posted March 12, 2015 Posted March 12, 2015 Every man I talked to or met on there ended up just wanting sex. I met better men on craigslist
bu2002 Posted March 12, 2015 Posted March 12, 2015 Most Successfull: OkCupid and Match Least Successfull: eharmony and POF Eharmony just had no volume, and POF was just trash. It's like nobody took it seriously
Phoe Posted March 12, 2015 Posted March 12, 2015 I met my ex on POF. Its the only site I've ever used, and I was only on it for a few days and didn't really stick around to see the dynamic, but I'd say it did work for me.

It's like nobody took it seriously I wasn't on EHarmony but had friends join up. Overall they had the same experience...not much action. I'm sure some people have had success on that site but I wonder how much of it is a public relations and advertising enterprise. It was weird that friends said on EHarmony they would get fed prospects from hundreds of kms away in the USA.
