Waitress doesn't surprise me either due to being with people all day & probably getting flirty customers if she's attractive which leads to temptation.

preraph
Entertainment/music. It's really too much of a given to even be called cheating. If you date a man who has women admirers after him all the time, he will sleep with some of them.

It's unfortunate that nurses cheat so much when their supposed to be about helping others, yet at the same time a lot of them are technically destroying lives too by cheating. Pretty much none of those surprise me at all though.

autumnnight
I can't remember where I read it, but high intensity careers tend to rate highest, followed professions where there is a unique camraderie (especially if the profession has unique aspects). I remember surgeons, physicians, police, professors, and other educators were high on the list. Also attorneys and CEO's.

Hmmmm.... Well, Bartenders of both genders are surrounded by attractive people of both genders all the time. So it's no surprise that they give in to cheating. That's not your situation, but I definitely could see how other bartenders could cheat so easily.
Author NJ123
I would say prostitute as number 1. Number 2 would be porn star. Well, that's having sex for a living. So it's technically not cheating if their partner knows what they do for a living. If they hide it than I'd consider it cheating.

So much for the nerd/geek stigma for IT guys. It wouldn't surprise me if some of it might be a case of older IT guys now doing well in their career & more self assured making up for when they struggled with girls when younger. Not sure why they don't appear in the US list though

Arieswoman
I have always been lead to believe that in UK shift-workers and people with irregular, stressful lifestyles eg police/fire service/doctors were more likely to cheat but I can't find any statistics on this. I did find this survey correlating occupation with divorce, but the cause of the divorce isn't listed... Divorce Rates by Profession - Lex Fridman Blog
Radu
Merchant marines is a virtual guarantee of cheating from what my friends tell me. Something along 80% probability of cheating during their lifetime, and it's more probable for women to cheat than men. [i have a few friends who are officers on transport ships] Next to that, military. Truck drivers is also almost a virtual guarantee for men to cheat. And in my personal view, besides the medical profession ... there is tons of cheating in the arts. PS: The reason for the higher probability of women to cheat is because they are male dominated fields, and they seclude for long period of times more men than women. Men tend to start treating the women like princesses, and the women buy into it. So eventually, on some voyage/deployment ... they will cheat ... that's where the 80% comes from.
