BlackOpsZombieGirl Posted March 11, 2015 Posted March 11, 2015 A guy that I had dated for about 3 months wanted to take me to St. Augustine, so we drove there in his Mustang convertible while we listened to Metallica (his most fave band). After we got there, he checked us in to a romantic and rustic bed & breakfast inn. There was a bottle of champagne and chocolate waiting for us in our room. It was like something out of a movie! We walked around in town to see the sights and had lunch at a quaint family owned eatery. We went back to our room, sat on the beautiful bed which had a canopy on it and talked about almost everything under the sun...after that, we made love and then laid in bed and talked some more. After that, we showered together, got all dressed up and then he took me to dinner at a very swanky restaurant. After we ate we were walking around town and he noticed a horse and carriage that was waiting for it's next passengers. He helped me on the carriage and then we rode around town and talked...and looked at the stars and everything surrounding us. I'd have to say, that was the only time in my life (and will probably ever be THE only time in my life) that I'll experience a moment like that. It was, in a word, magical...I'll never forget it as long as I live! It's too bad things didn't work out between us; he traveled extensively for his job and was out of town A LOT...that was something I just couldn't live with for the long term. So, what was the most AWESOME date you've ever been on? . 1
writergal Posted March 11, 2015 Posted March 11, 2015 My great date was very low key...just how I like it. Met my date in a park in Ireland one summer when I went to visit relatives there. My date and I ate our lunch from a picnic basket, drank some wine, ate some dessert. Then we strolled through the park for a few hours and people watched, laughed and talked a lot. Then we fed some swans bits of torn bread that were in the pond that was in the middle of the park. Then we got a little romantic and after that, we walked back to the park entrance where he helped me catch a cab that took me back to the house where some of my relatives lived. We hung out the whole summer. A long, long, time ago, in a country far, far away. Have some great memories from that summer. 1

Anyways, it sounds like you had a wonderful and romantic time with your suitor! Aren't these kinds of memories precious? It's like, a snapshot in a time of our lives that made us feel happiness with a sweet person that we may never see again... *sigh*....such is life! . 1

Aren't these kinds of memories precious? It's like, a snapshot in a time of our lives that made us feel happiness with a sweet person that we may never see again... *sigh*....such is life! . It's very easy to fall in love IN Ireland with a man, and easy to fall in love WITH Ireland the country too. If it didn't rain so much there and wasn't so dang wet and cold, I would be living there right now. Add Ireland to your "must travel to" list and go when you get the chance. You'll love Ireland. Yes, it was a very special summer with a very special guy. Our paths crossed for three great months and we tried to keep it going after that, but couldn't. This was long before the Internet and cell phones were available, so we wrote each other letters and called each other which was very romantic. Waiting for his letters was fun. But alas, another romance not meant to be. He's married now with a son. His wife is very nice and they are doing well. I'm very happy for him. He's a great guy. 1
Author BlackOpsZombieGirl Posted March 11, 2015 Author Posted March 11, 2015 There's not a single person besides me and WriterGal that has had an awesome date in their WHOLE ENTIRE life?!? That's just crazy (or sad). .
d0nnivain Posted March 11, 2015 Posted March 11, 2015 I have had a few so yes, I know I am very lucky & very spoiled. They were with different men though. 1. Limo picked me up at work & took me home to change. In the limo I found a new dress, champagne & roses. After I changed we picked up the guy & went into NYC for dinner & a concert. 2. Dinner in NYC & a horse drawn carriage ride. 3. He cooked an amazing dinner. We pushed back all of the furniture in the living room & slow danced by candle light. and the best one: DH took me on a breath taking 10 day cruise & proposed; the ring was presented to me under a dome. Fabulous meal. Romantic setting. Sweet proposal (that had some hiccups for character) & dancing after wards. I also agree that St. Augustine & Ireland are magical places. ironically my favorite St. Augustine memory is with my BIL. It wasn't romantic but a lot of fun!

Wow, those are some awesome memories you've got! Yes, St. Augustine will always hold a special place in my memories. I don't know what it is about that particular city...but it seems to have a lot of history...it's almost like I sense it's history and charm and sometimes feel as though I've experienced it before (in another life, perhaps?) - but that's another thread in and of itself. .
Starship Posted March 11, 2015 Posted March 11, 2015 My boyfriend and I....a hike and picnic in our nearby Canadian Rockies. A 6 km hike into our own meadow with an aqua coloured glacial lake...waterfall. Alpine flowers in full bloom. Butterflies. Surrounded by mountain peaks. Bread, cheese , wine. ..gray jays coming to eat from our hand...a couple of mountain sheep. There was an otter family that was enjoying the water and sunshine. Just about all my favourite dates have been outdoors in Nature. Even a simple winter drive to the mountains and supper and wine around the campfire trumps a 5 star restaurant. 1

The part I highlighted in bold sounds like something out of the Twilight Saga books! How picturesque and romantic! Everything else you've mentioned sounds very au naturel...I LOVE being out in nature (when I'm NOT shooting zombies on my xbox!) and especially when I'm out on a date! As for the bread (Italian loaf), cheese (Swiss and Monterey Jack) and wine (Moscato), I have all three in my kitchen right now...makes me want to go and make myself a nice little treat! .
Phoe Posted March 11, 2015 Posted March 11, 2015 My ex took me on our first date to a little coffee shop and bought me hot chocolate, and we talked for hours! Definitely my best date ever. I came home really happy. 2
Starship Posted March 11, 2015 Posted March 11, 2015 My ex took me on our first date to a little coffee shop and bought me hot chocolate, and we talked for hours! Definitely my best date ever. I came home really happy. Aw...so nice. So fantastic when you get that magical romantic high. Some of the absolute best moments are the very simplest. My boyfriend and I met for the second time and walked around a duck pond. Then he reached out and held my hand for the first time. I melted. It was a rush that went from my toes up to the top of my head. Magical. That night I hugged on to my teddy bear thinking of his touch and rocked myself to sleep. 3

Indeed, the simple things are what melt me! For our second date we went to a bookstore, and he kissed me while we were browsing through books. 3
Ruby Slippers Posted March 11, 2015 Posted March 11, 2015 I could write for a while on the subject. I'm lucky One in particular comes to mind, though: My boyfriend and I went to the casino. He's an excellent gambler, and in no time won $600. As he always did, he immediately gave me half of his winnings because he said I was his good luck charm Neither of us was making much money at the time, so we were on a frugal budget. His birthday was right around the corner, so I asked him if he would mind if I used the casino winnings (unexpected money) to take him to a fancy steakhouse for the occasion. We had excellent wine, enjoyed many courses of delicious food, and I gave him this beautiful set of poker chips and nice playing cards in a cool case. It was one of the sweetest dates I can remember. 1
Jessie1231 Posted March 11, 2015 Posted March 11, 2015 My best ever date was in Vienna. My boyfriend at the time was taking me to Europe for the first time, and I knew we were going to London but he surprised me by going to Vienna for a few days before that. We spent the entire day walking around the city - it is absolutely gorgeous. We saw all the sites, then went to the Volksgarten where of course there was some guy playing an accordion that set this overly romantic and perfect tone. That night we had a few drinks at a bar and had dinner, then we went for a horse drawn carriage ride around the city. It was close to Christmas, so the city was full of Christmas markets and lights that made it even more romantic. The trip ended up going south because we broke up at the airport after we spent time in London. That part aside, it was very romantic. 1
todreaminblue Posted March 11, 2015 Posted March 11, 2015 A walk in the botanical gardens near sunset.......the beauty...the smells of flowers...the sky above and a spot of grass without names on it.....we talked for hours about everything and we kissed....a lot......i think he kissed me a lot to shut me up...smilin...but it was a wonderful date and it us cost nothing at all..which was lucky ...because i was homeless and had no money anyway...i always go dutch.......deb 2
Yookie Posted March 11, 2015 Posted March 11, 2015 Oh the memories... Best date was a guy who drove us up to wine country (Napa Valley, CA) in his Mercedes convertible with the top down. I remember the weather that day was beautiful. We went to a mud bath spa. they also give you a mineral water bath and massage after the mud bath. It was so awesome and very relaxing. Then we went wine tasting and had a very nice dinner at a special restaurant. On another date (same guy) we rode on his Harley down to half-moon bay. He had one of those huge bikes that fits two very comfortably. It was a very gorgeous day to be riding down pacific coast highway. It's a very scenic route with mountain cliffs on one side and ocean on the other. We met some other bikers along the way when we stopped for a picnic lunch. Later we had dinner at one of the towns near the coast. 1
Leigh 87 Posted March 11, 2015 Posted March 11, 2015 My current guy. He took me out for a meal at my fave swanky wine bar. The reason it was my favourite was because we both felt the connection and we were so excited about meeting and couldn't run out of things to talk about. Things just flowed well with us and we also had the instant spark and intence attraction. 1
Tayla Posted March 12, 2015 Posted March 12, 2015 With 2yrs of Ldr,my love had welcomed me to live in europe with him. I stepped off the plane we drove to dtown amsterdamn, spent the afternoon celebrating Queens day... ferris wheel, street entertainers, beautiful evening breeze, and foods that i hadn't known..... on the way back he stopped by a beach... we simply sat holding each other... in pure bliss that we made this leap of love. For 8 months each day was a date to cherish...I can only say that Belgium chocolate makes a nice dessert on your loved one I genuinely believe that being so in love had alot to do with calling that the most cherished and wonderful dates!... its been 12 yrs since we parted ways.... yet those moments still carry fondness... 2
