Gloria25 Posted March 11, 2015 Posted March 11, 2015 Ok, I was catching some Family Feud and they do surveys to answer certain things... And, the question of by how many dates is a RL considered serious? Answer was "three". Ok, we all heard of the "three date rule" when it comes to having sex...but for real? What do you know about a person in three dates to say you're "serious" about them? That also begs the question, then what does "serious" mean to you? 1
bu2002 Posted March 11, 2015 Posted March 11, 2015 Three dates seems odd as far being considered "serious" Three dates to me is usually a litmus test to decide whether to keep seeing someone or cut things off. That doesn't mean it's serious, it just means I have enough intel on her and can better assess my own feelings. 2
Dybbuk Posted March 11, 2015 Posted March 11, 2015 Agree with bu2002. Out of the 20 guys I dated, none of them lasted past date #3 except for 2. Those 2 were the only ones I was 'seriously' interested in seeing IF it could be something more. We weren't serious in the sense that we were BF/GF, but by date #3 I could tell if I liked them enough to keep seeing them. I never dragged it past the third date if I was iffy. It seems like a waste of time for both of us. 3rd = sex. For me? Hell. to. the. no. lol 1
dichotomy Posted March 11, 2015 Posted March 11, 2015 (edited) sex has nothing to do with serious for most these days. If you made to the third date with interest, then I guess your ok enough to want to see them for a while (many date).... and might as well take them for a test drive in the sack. To me serious, or at least semi serious is when they become (for the immediate future) exclusive.. Your with them only usually with sex involved. I guess the old fashion thing - going steady, not looking around. Edited March 11, 2015 by dichotomy 1
