katiegrl Posted March 11, 2015 Posted March 11, 2015 @katiegrl: We stayed in contact via email. Mostly short emails with the typical 'get to know you questions'. He asked for a date, I told him I would think about it, and afterward we traded emails for a few days, and then I felt comfortable enough meeting. So in one of my emails I said something to the effect of "I thought about it, and I would like to go out on a date if you're still up for it?" He agreed and set up the date. He gave me time to think about it, but he didn't bring it up again in conversation. He sounds cool!
Author fitnessfan365 Posted March 11, 2015 Author Posted March 11, 2015 You know what? You're right I did miss that...my bad. Had a rough day, what can I say.... I was gonna say.. Usually you're as sharp as a tack. BTW - Funny story that just happened. Awhile back, there was a woman I wrote on OKCupid that didn't respond. Shortly after that, I closed down my account and decided to join Match instead. So a few days ago, I finally decide to rejoin OKC. Different screen name and two pics that are way better. Finally show what I actually look like in person. So I write this same woman, and she responds back in five minutes after viewing. Totally flirty and enthusiastic. After two emails, I already had her agreeing to a date and she gave her number without hesitation. Funny how something as simple as new photos can change things online even though I'm the same guy. Don't know I feel about it actually..LOL
katiegrl Posted March 11, 2015 Posted March 11, 2015 Katiegirl...you like Italian? how about Italian with me? I like your spunk. You've piqued my interest. May I think about it?
Gary S Posted March 11, 2015 Posted March 11, 2015 So I brought up getting together for ice cream and asked for the number. Got the typical "I'll think about it" followed by a "But I love ice cream so I'll probably give it to you." - okay, I apologize, I really just skimmed it when I read it the first time. She's interested in giving you her number, just not ready yet, and she said it in a playful way. What you should have done was sent one or two more playful messages tops, and then cut communication for 1-4 days. Then come back with a nice/playful message out of the blue after your hiatus and she probably would have given you her number. I vividly remember bantering with a woman online when I was dating.... After a few messages, I wrote, "If you don't stop being so cute, I might have to ask you for your phone number!" She replied with, "Let's see if you catch any fish yet (I told her I was going on a fishing trip)!" So I sent a couple more playful messages and dated someone else... in 4-5 days, I sent her a funny message. She responded right away with her number (and note that I really did not even ask for it, just said I might). You probably looked desperate when you gave her yours after you already asked for hers. Playing hard to get doubles attraction.

Author fitnessfan365 Posted March 11, 2015 Author Posted March 11, 2015 What ya know...a man doesn't know how he feels about it..... Why don't you "think about it" for awhile? Hahaha.. The fact that you share my love of bad puns too is just another layer of icing. In a way I'm glad that I don't know what you look like, because I'm enjoying your personality way too much. Imagine this. I meet this woman, it goes well, I keep seeing her, and we sleep together. Then as we're lying there in bed, I tell her "I'm the same guy you wouldn't write back awhile ago. Bet you're glad you did now aren't you?"

Damn straight she's glad! ;) And BTW, I told you who I resembled (looks wise) in another thread...guess you missed it.

Why don't you re-educate me.
guest569 Posted March 11, 2015 Posted March 11, 2015 When I was 11 years old, yes. I kept asking him daily if he had thought about it yet. I think my grandmother gave an 'I'll think about it' which turned into dating and a lifetime marriage.
SycamoreCircle Posted March 11, 2015 Posted March 11, 2015 This thread is starting to feel like Chuck Woolery is hanging about.

wb1988 Posted March 14, 2015 Posted March 14, 2015 "I'll think about it" always means "no for now, but maybe I'll change my mind later". If you haven't met the girl in person yet then it's not a big deal.
